in the UK the main anti-terrorism act got passed meaning they can arrest and hold people without evidence or allowing the person to see a lawer. Although when they tried to extent the time you could get help to 90 days it didnt get though thank god.

In Canada our War Times Measures Act (wich luckily has only been enacted 3 times, both world wars and during a series of mailbox bombs placed by the FLQ trying to seperate Quebec from the rest of Canada in the 70s (I think it was the 70s)). Anyways, the police and army can hold anyone upto 90 days with no charges or lawyers as well as suspending other civil rights.

And they castrate you for littering so its a kind of sadistic evil tortures from the government..

Not content with removing the bins from the train station (terrorist risk) the local government also wanted to remove them from a few of the main streets for the same reason. And keep the £300 fine for littering.
There's also a £50 fine for dropping a cigarrette butt in the street. How long this will last before people begin complaining about burning bins I don't know...
