Building up an army

Hi, I was wondering, because everyone seems to have awesome armies, what is the best way to train and build your army? (I'm playing as nords and bandits run away so i can't use them ) Thanks and a merry Christmas if you can go back in time.

Cheating in M&B is like coke, it seems fun at first but then you can't stop and it ends up ruining your game...

Once you and your companions have a few levels, invest in the training skill, it helps a lot in getting troops upgraded to a decent tier (where they have a fighting chance).

Pick your battles, before you get a castle try to avoid battles where you take huge casualties yourself, as retraining your troops may not be very easy at this point.

As for not being able to catch bandits, I find that it helps if you limit the size of your warband - don't go for the maximum unit limit as it will make you too slow to catch bandits. For the early game 30-40 men should be enough, you should focus more on training up your existing soldiers instead. Investing in pathfinding also helps.

If it seems difficult, don't worry about it, the game gets easier the longer you play it. Welcome to TW!

The rest of the advice is good too, but about not being able to catch bandits... You don't need to, make them come to you. Camp right on their hideout (preferably sea raiders if you can take them) and wait. At first (for a few days) they'll come close and then run away again, but eventually they'll desperately need to resupply or something and they'll swarm you all at once. Be warned, you'll be fighting more bandits than usual, but at least you don't need to catch them.

I've noticed an easy way to catch bandits is paying for room & board in a castle/town in a bandit-infested area. Spend a few nights in Rivacheg, and pause as soon as a bandit party wanders past - then leave and snipe them! If they're close enough, the speed difference won't matter.

as far i'm concerned, the best and easiest way to gain armies is to visit every village and recruit volenteers.

Ctrl + alt +f4 doesn't shut your game down, If you do as I suggest then you'll need this:

Willing to use the cheat or get a club weapon that doesn't kill and hit alot.
You need a fort because your going to loose 99 morale.
Caputure the most amount of troops that you disire, even if it's from another faction, deserters, or bandits. make sure it's only ONE troop type, and then hire them via camp. you must hire them all at once. Then you'll be able to upgrade them to the types you like.

Ctrl+Alt+F4 doesn't kill it knocks the enemies on the map unconscious

The best way to build up a big army is to visit a lot of villages and recruit volunteers. You also need to have a high leading skill to raise the party morale and your party size limit. And it's always good when you and your companions have a high trainer skill, so that the volunteers are upgraded to high tier troops very fast.

By the way: cheating is for guys who don't understand the game.
