What the hell is a building pack 11!?!1?1?

I've made this originally for Fantasy mod, since I'm redoing every scene.
then I thought "hey, I might be able to help other people out with this.." and felt generous.. Because I sure do know what a pain in the ass it is to do new scenes, and have to model every single thing.

The building pack is basicly a collection of building piece-models that I modelled.
with those pieces you can create a building ingame, through the edit mode.

Ofcourse, this wasn't meant for releasing at first, so somethings might be ugly.

Note: This pack is for modders. most stuff is unfinished. and the modder in question will most likely have to add/change most stuff to his liking.
I won't change anything or release any other 'versions'. It's what it is, and if you don't like it you can easely export things and redo them. (there's a bunch of stuff that needs some work before it looks good enough to go ingame.)

Creating a house will take you some time, but this pack does let you have hundreds of unique buildings in compensation.

I just messed with it for about an hour, (trying different things) and made these two buildings.
They aren't really regular buildings, more a tavern and a merchant house.

Just as an example, I added the windmill too. this is the only building thats actually a fully built building.. the rest are only pieces.





Looks nice, but how many things are actually in the pack ??11!!!1

Here's the full list of items incuded :

  •   Wall_large, Wall_medium, Wall_small each in 6 different textures.
  •   Wall_square, Wall_rectangle, Wall_rectangle_rounded each in 6 different textures
  •   A pillar in wooden and stone texture
  •   6 different doors, with 2 different styles of brick (12 diff doors) 
  •   Windmill
  •   Wooden poles (beams?). come in large, medium, small and tiny size.
  •   3 different roofs  (yes, the pack needs more roofs.. :razz: )
  •   3 different straw roofs (need work)

You know, I think everyone would benefit if you added some mud huts in a vaguely indian style to the pack  :wink:

with a bit of change here and there, you could just as well add some your-mod-style things, by just changing the material, or adding some models.
 
No, good job on it, the windmill will be a nice touch to any mod. Hey, how do you get props into scene props? I wanted to add the new village and farm houses a while back but I couldn't figure out how, so I just added them as items and put them in game that way.
 
hard to explain but when i apply a texture it gets stretched and looks real silly
 
In a word: awesome.  These will definitely see some use.  The only small (okay, extremely tiny) thing that I would suggest is to change the names to all have a standard prefix.  In other words, I would change this:

To this:

That way, it'll be easier to find your new stuff.  For the same reason, I changed:

To:
("hew_roof_straw1",0,"straw_roof1","bo_roof1", []),

But that's just me being, well, obsessive.  :grin:

right now I have no intention on redoing stuff untill I really need it for fantasymod. so everyone, for the time being, if something looks ugly, I suggest you redo it yourself rather than waiting for a fix :razz:

yeah, it can be somewhat annoying to search all the stuff in between all other scene props.
but when you're sceneing for a good hour, you know where what is, and there's no real problem :smile:

just script your model in module_scene_props, and logicly its a scene prop then.

I have no idea what you're trying to say.. you shouldn't be applying any texture, infact.. its all done in the BRF already.
