Building a Dual Boot Win7/OSX Machine

So, my friend has asked me to build him a computer that will run both windows 7 and Mac OSX, a task of which I have no idea how to do.
I've built windows-only machines before, so I don't need to know about that. However, form what I've read, you can only have specific configurations of parts, and if you don't OSX won't work. Do you need two separate HDDs, or can you put both operating systems on the same drive?

And insight on this would be much appreciated.

You don't need separate HDDs, to a computer, each partition is its own drive. I would recommend checking out the best Mac computers on Apple's website and then taking the parts they use and buy them from newegg or a similar site. Then just buy the respective OS disks, install one, then the installer for the second will allow you to make a partition.

Alright, I convinced my friend to do a windows-only machine, because apparently his audio editing software also comes in a windows version. So problem solved, I guess.
