Build Better Back-up?

I've noticed from this thread that the most advanced unit you can hone [not including the dark knight] is the Slaver Chief.

Has anyone ever compared the "Fighting Ability" among Vaegir Knights, Swadian Knights, and Slaver Chief's?

If someone has gotten dark knights, how well did they preform?
How did you get them? [raid prison trains?]

I'm not sure if anyone's actually compared and contrasted all of the elite units in the game. But from what I've gathered, folks tend to like Swadian Knights over the Vaegirs because they have better armor. Vaegirs have better weapons they say, but since the Swads last longer, they do better. As for other units, I don't know.

EDIT: Just did a search, nobody's posted the stats for each unit in the game, other than their levels and possible equipment, which is in the post you linked.

I had a couple dark knights at one time and they kicked ass, but I was a lancer on a horse with a bunch of Swadian knights, with Borcha in black armor on a warhorse and using a sword of war. I don't know how well they would do if you are using an archer or crossbow party. I picked them up when I attacked a prisoner train. Sometimes you can get lucky and a dark hunter or dark knight will be a prisoner to a fairly weak group. I've picked up one or two that way as well but those were the times I got wiped out afterwards because I was wounded and getting cocky.
