Recruit
Summary: You gain trade skill by discarding items which have a green price onto the ground or into a defeated enemy's inventory (at the loot screen). The glitch is exasperated because there is no supply/demand chain when discarding items. Specifically, the price will not be reduced as the quantity in the "discard" inventory increases. So you gain trade experience as if you sold the entire stack of items at the price shown in your inventory.
How to Reproduce: Buy an item at a low price (green price in the vendor's inventory) from some city. Check the trade rumors for a city with a "sell at:" indicator significantly higher than the purchase price. Go near the target city (but do not enter the city). Open your inventory. Click the transfer arrow on items which have a green price, indicating you are "making a profit" according to your trade skill. Click "Done". The items will be discarded but you will gain trade skill according to the game's idea of the profit you would've made relative to the item's price in that area. Sometimes you can even do this by buying out the items in a city, then leaving the city and immediately discarding them without moving anywhere. The same thing is possible when defeating an enemy and claiming their loot. You can discard items with a green price into the "loot" inventory to gain trade experience, even though you are not making an actual profit.

Same thing applies to Items dropped into the "Stash" in your own city. Green price items give Trade XP.
