I'm having serious problems with my sound while playing this game, which is unfortunate because I really feel like shelling out the cash for it.
Anyway, The sound in the game is fine until someone performs an agressive action, such as attacking/getting hit. As soon as this happens, the sound becomes loud, coarse, tinny, slower, and deeper-pitched. I had this problem with morrowind in the past, but it was fixed after I re-installed. Unfortunately, re-installing Mount and Blade does very little to alleviate this problem.
I only have this problem with Morrowind and Mount and Blade. If any other program, i.e. mediaplayer, is playing sound in the background when the distortion takes place, it too will become distorted. Such distortion ceases if I pause and play the music after quitting Blade and Mount. My soundcard is a SoundMax Digital Audio card, and is using the latest driver as far as I know.
If you can solve this peculiar problem for me, I'd be more than willing to lay down the cash for this game, it is great fun in all other respects.
