Hello all,
        I was having a look at the new report page and checking out the new layouts.  If I click the courtship report I do get red error writing though nothing directly appears to be wrong on screen.  6 lines when entering the screen (script errors pointing to opcode 921 & 922 and 3 lines pointing to 922 when leaving it to return to the previous report selection screen.  I'm afraid I'm more used to simply playing it rather than testing I know there is a file that tracks these errors but I cannot remember what its called or where it is. I could type the errors out as resonably small but I guess you need something more to go on.  Let me know what the best way to go about this is please so I can be of more use.  I'm more use to testing corporate systems than games...  :sad: 

NB this is from a savegame from 2.52, I should also mention that I had installed a non steam copy 1.43 whilst you were working on the initial break fixes for 2.52 given that most steam players fell foul to the auto update on steam.  This particular error is using the updated steam install of warband and not the standalone.

Hey guys this is my first post and i have to say that this is really a great mod. Seriously.... awesome.

Anyway onto the main issue. I've run the search engine 5 different ways and found no mention of this and assume that i'm the first to really bump into it. Basically whenever your entrenched which I tend to do as its really helps my archer army own the battle field, Reinforcements come in for the winning side instead of the losing side likes its supposed to. This happens for both the player and the computer enemies. I've teset and seen happen well over 10 times now without skipping a beat so its definietly a repeatable occurance.

It's clearly a small mix up somewhere in the entrenchment script but i'm not a modder so no clue where to look or how to fix. If you guys could be so kind to correct it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.... If you could post or PM me the fix would be much appreciated. I use this option quite alot and you guys just put out a patch, so i'd rather not wait around a few weeks for the next large hotfix/patch. I've toyed around enough with this game that with Great guidance and instuctions i can make the adjustments myself.

Edit: My game is fully updated.... Floris Gameplay 2.53.... Warband 1.52 (whatever the newest update is)

What do you mean?  The post that you quoted wasn't a bug.  It was someone that didn't understand the banner selection screen had to be removed from the character creation process and now will pop up while you're traveling on the map in the first minute or so of play due to the warband 1.150 update.  This was a necessary workaround for mods with a "combined character creation" system like ours to prevent the black screen hangups that were happening for folks using 1.150+.
 
Okay so is there a setting or something i need to change because after i make my choices in character creation i just get a black screen and i cant do anything.

Good catch.  I believe it should work for gameplay (as they share the same code), but it was intended for expanded.  This will definitely not work with the basic version.  I'll update the download file in a little while.  Thanks.

Thanks for updating the download to notify that it is for Expanded but I don't think this will be
compatible with "Gameplay".

I checked the download against the default "Gameplay" version using the text diffing tool: KDiff3 and it showed 169 differences. I don't think this one will be compatible with Gameplay.

I don't really know what all the numbers mean but unless compiling generates new, random bytecode each time (but with same functionality) then this shows a significant discrepancy between "Expanded" and "Gameplay".

Could we get a hotfix compiled against Gameplay specifically? I'd do it but I don't fully understand the module system.

Bug:

Textures installed to wrong folder for 'Gameplay' version

Details:

I tried two methods of installing the 'Gameplay' version:

[list type=decimal]
[*]Check off 'Gameplay' in the list of choices
[*]Selecting 'Gameplay' from the dropdown
[/list]

In both cases, there was a 'Dev Suite' folder with the subfolder 'Files\textures' which contained
three files:

  • min_itm_armor_khe_nob_kazakhrobe.dds
  • min_itm_armor_khe_nob_kazakhrobe_normal.dds
  • min_itm_armor_khe_nob_kazakhrobe_spec.dds

I checked the 'textures' folder in the 'Gameplay' module and these files were not present.

Whilst I have had no errors relating to that quoted I noticed that after solely installing the expanded version I still get the Dev suite folder installed containing those items listed above.


Anyone who had the same problem as me would notice that certain robes worn by Kherghit nobles (and the starter bandit leader) cause texture errors and appear black.

The fix for this is indeed found through installing the dev suite version of the mod and placing the missing files (listed in MrMakov's quote above) in the texture folder.

Also I recommend you install the dev suite version to another folder if your sole purpose for it is to fix this graphical error.
 
Ok i found 2 bugs.. 1 is kinda funny the other is quite frankly gamebreaking

1st glitch... I was assaulting Derchios castle... The one close to dhirim and after i died i surveyed the battle and noticed that the last 6 or 7 guys were running in place. There was no wall or anything for them to stick on and clearly some 100 other enemies used the same path to run to their deaths thanks to my archers. No a big issue, stuck enemies are easier for me to hit but figured i'd point it out before it happens to my guys or something.

My second glitch is far mor gamebreaking and needs immediate attention. After conquering the castle the game locked up or well would progress past a continuation screen. I hit continue a dozen times and it just game random money and never progressed. I had to ALT-F4 out of the game and CTD after spending 30 minutes seiging that castle :mad:. I started back up and enabled cheatmode and did the insta conquer and got the same result. I further test it on an enemy Town and re tested on a friendly town all with the same problem. As i would like to someday be able to conquer a castle or start my own kingdom this clearly is a major problem. Relevant information.. I'm fully patched to  Floris 2.53 on the updated warband playing steam. Was playing as a Mercenary for Khergits, at war with the Nords. If you need more info i'm glad to give it, just ask.

I can neither reproduce this with instant conquer nor with a regular siege - is there anything special you did in/to your game? Were you enlisted at any point? Could you upload your broken savegame?

I have the same problem here.  I'd noticed as OXeN said in post #15 that the patch enabled a quest where you were enlisted in your own faction.  I'd just taken Suno, taken prisoners, taken loot, and then got stuck on the same "You shouldn't be able to read this" screens as Bankoleva posted.

WinXP running with /3Gb switch

I'd started on 1.52 enlisted as a Swadian soldier for Harlus.  I was forced out as Harlus got his butt kicked so much he ended up in jail, and the time for me to report back before being classed a deserter ran out.  The quest ended and all was working ok.  Was kinda funny being skint and shunned.  I was able to seige after the desertion, and before the patch.

With the 1.53 patch, a message stated it had fixed the broken quest, and the New quest appeared with me at the same rank I was in Harlus's army (C4 Equdor (sp?)) but now with me in my own army (player faction).  At the time I installed 1.53, I was (and still am) a Rhodok vassal.

So yeah your theory about it having something to do with enlisting sounds right (for 2 of the 3 reports so far anyway).
I'll register with one of those file upload sites if you want the savegame (or pm me an email to post it to).


A few other minor problems I've noticed.
1/ I'm still seeing the "Missing mesh" for the Imperial Bow and Rhodok dagger. we_vae_bow_imperial, we_rho_sword_rondel
2/ The village Balanli has no terrain (hills).  The land was flat with everyone walking around and the village objects were floating above.
3/ I won a 'reinforced' horse at a tourney.  It had ~250 HP.
4/ I can't find the brace/volley commands - though that might just be me being blind.

It looks like one of my attempts at maintaining savegame compatibility while fixing some of the deeper enlistment/freelancer bugs didn't exactly work out as anticipated. I can almost guarantee you won't see this bug in a new game...not much help in your situation, I realize, so my apologies at missing something in the compatibility/savegame porting checks.

I can see if there is an easy hotfix-style correction for these bugged savegame transfers.
 
All of Tuna's details match my own. I was enlisted with a swadian Lord but did an early retirement request. I also have the bugged quest line about being enlisted in my own faction. I didn't participate in any seiges prior to patch, so i have no reference there. So that would be 3 for 3 on the problem involving enlistment. After reading his post i did a quick new game and can confirm that i didn't have the problem as Caba just refered but i didn't enlist and test seige so ican't say the exact same thing won't happen 100 days from my little test.

Also has anyone looked into that entrechment error i posted and got moved in here??

Upload the file (found in Documents\Mount&Blade Warband Savegames\Floris <version>\ and named sgXX.sav (from 00-08, with 00 being the upper left corner and 08 the lower right) to a free file-hosting service. MediaFire, used just above, is one such example. If you use the Dropbox service you could also just copy the file there and share the link. Then, post the file's link provided by your service of choice in the thread here.
 
Ok, I just loaded a 2.52 savegame, then attended a tournament in Yalen and now...my maximum party size and renown got messed up somehow.



Is this known already?

Btw:
I changed the simple_triggers.txt according to Caba to set the renown loss to zero.

Guys,

Pardon me for not having any screenies or not being able to be a bit more specific, but I've encountered a couple bugs in the last couple nights I've played. I'm at work now otherwise I'd go ahead and post a couple in addition to the post. Anyway, a couple things I've noticed:

First, when asking one of Calradia's fair ladies if there's any way to win their favour and having them accept; they'll use female-specific gender pronouns to refer to their male counterparts. For example, the dialogue might refer to someone's husband by name and also call the man "her" in the same conversation.

Also, using the Courtship Relations menu in Personal Reports brings up about a dozen bad or so bad strings as it launches. For what it's worth, my character's married.

Anyway, those small issues aside I've just discovered Floris and I find it to be an amazing mod. Fantastic work and I hope I can help to get these small issues ironed out.
