Bugs and known issues

Here is a special topic for bug reports on the Basic, Gameplay and Expanded version of 2.5. Please specify in your post which version you used. Also, if your problem is at all related to a troop (equipment, appearance, etc) please indicate which troop tree you've selected.

Before you post, you'd better read the FAQ, because sometimes the errors you get can be solved by solutions posted over there. Furthermore, if you're having trouble/crashes, you can also ask for help at Support.

KNOWN ISSUES

[*]Tulga tavern causes crashes
[*]Autoloot/upgrade misses helmets, poorly judges some items
[*]There's a SCRIPT ERROR ON OPCODE 520: Invalid Troop ID: -1; LINE NO: 3: At script: lord_get_home_center. - SEE FIX
[*]Formations sometimes drift from where they should be  - SEE FIX
[*]Item # 607 -  angle sword is bugged (included on some bandits and Nord grid men)
[*]Colored bows may be bugged
 
Hi,

First of all, thank you for all the work !

I'm using Floris 2.5 "Gameplay version", but i can't find "Freelancer". However, "Freelancer" is in the expanded version. Is it normal ?
 
Im guessing that you simply didnt find Sigmund yet (you mean the freelancer troops not the Freelancer system of joining a lord?). Simply join a tavern several times, there is always a 20% chance for him to show up.
 
i found something i find rather odd. Strange i didnt stumble upon it while betatesting.

I just found 2 Masterwork Two Handed Sabres. Great Sword actually, Two Handed, fast and all. They were both pretty much equal except the one with the MUCH MUCH higher price was way worse. It hat +4 Strength Requirement, +1 Speed and +5 Swing Damage. Resulting in 45c Damage, 97 Speed and 120 Range. Costs 16k roughly
The other one:
+3 Swing Damage, +3 Speed Resulting in 47c Damage, 99 Speed and 120 Range. Costs roughly 4k

Who would by the much more expensive and less effective one with more strenght requirement since its damage isnt even higher...at least not in the detailscreen.

I got some screenshots, but i dont think they are required if they are i will however upload them

- one more thing:
The Bodyguard Mod seems to have some issues. I started my game loading one savegame from the beta within the fullrelease (expanded) and it worked fine. Now after saving a village from some villains it does not anymore. Havent changed much except put some tier5+6 units up on my troop list just below my "bodyguard" to be companion...which i equipped extremly well for that cause... well...  i just got attacked by some villains on my way to the market and my guard was missing. He also didnt join me in the tavern.

Sorry, i made a mistake. I meant the Freelancer system of joining a lord... i can't find it in "Floris Gameplay".
 
Oops.

In the source we have Freelancer as a modmerger kit. Using modmerger kits allows us to have a basic source, and enable/disable certain features. To enable it, we must add a line saying 'add Freelancer to the source'. We had that all working in expanded, and for some reason it has slipped past us in the gameplay version. I'm sorry about that: I'll make a patch fixing this.

Please can you add an option to disable shield bash?
Every time a will defend with a shield, he is doing a shield bash after that.

Can do in future versions, sure. Though it only takes a moment's separation between letting go of the defend button and clicking attack to not bash.

If you really want to totally disable it (everywhere),
1. open up your scripts.txt file (back it up first)
2. Find the line that begins cf_shield_bash
3. On the next line, find

5. Save. Shield bash will no longer work anywhere in the game.

Delete it and replace it with a 0

Make sure the next script name still starts on a new line.

Everytime when i release the denfend button he is doing a shieldbash and i can not do an attack. It makes the shield useless, because it is not funny to watch.

Edit: Thank you for the tipp, i think i will disable it.

Shield bash engages if you are holding down the defend button and then click attack while defend is still down.
It takes the game a moment (much less than half a second, but I can't give a time) to recognize that you let go of defend, but otherwise, I'm unsure why there'd be any problem.

Oh yes, you are right. I hit the attack button to fast after release the defend button!

Edit: By the way: Great work, keep it up!!
 
Maybe i found a bug:
When you get attacked in a tavern by a drunken man, nothing hapens. I mean right after the dialog, he is saying he will fight against you, but nothing happen. You had to leave the tavern to the streets to continue.

A Suggestion to the already freakin awesome tournaments:

How about a message who killed you and which guy you killed as soon as you kill them...
like Player kills King Yaroglek or Carlo kills Player

Would be nice who kicks my ass in the tournament :wink:

I'm not sure I understand your suggestion right.  Isn't this already done via the message window by displaying "King Yaroglek is knocked unconcious by 'the player'."?
