Every time I attack a bandit hideout (coves, etc) I get the message the battle has been won from the outset even though there are numerous enemies yet to beat.

Archers become very weak infantry when the enemies are too close and so having either cavalry or infantry hit them before your real infantry will mean loss of a great many of them. While having archers in the rear means they can still offer their strongest support.

At first I was concerned that the archers would be hitting my own troops, but after testing which should be first I found overall I lose less men with infantry in front. In fact I found consistently less loss by doing that. Besides infantry=life of a grunt.

Likewise having cavalry set to follow me is the best way to maintain control of that group who would normally get slaughtered if they ran headlong into the enemy front ranks. At a certain point though I just hit 0 then F1 then F3 anyway - controls don't allow for much fine tuning.

I tend to use the same tactics. It's a slight annoyance setting the formations at the start of EVERY battle. However, if there's a hill near I tend to put my archers at the top, my infantry about halfway up, and take my Calvary to harass the enemy while they approach my lines.

As for my report:

The castle of Gage controls a village to the far eastern end of tripoli, while tripoli controls the village right next to Gage. Seems a little backwards.

 
Not rally a bug per say but castles and towns next to a river will be besieged from the oher side of the river and will stay there until attacking and go ALL the way around to attack makes it funny to watch the defending armies do a "round the river and back to the castle" dance.

When  this happen, try and replace your current save game with the last_savegame_backup file in the saves folder.
 
Haven't tried this for along time due to crashes, having said that this is very stable for me now except for the world map stutter which everyone is getting anyway :grin:. I've been playing for long periods of time on the English side. So i'll give abit of feed back here.

Ok a few bugs and gameplay issuses i'd like voice.

- Some poems don't give any relation at all neither - or + to ladys your trying to impress.
- When asking a wandering em poem guy (forgot thier names) in the taven, what the ladys are like he doesn't give details on all instead starts to repeat ones you already know about.
- There doesn't seem to be enough npc's rotating in the cities. I think thier needs to be at least 1 of each type in each country to fix this (not city because then they'll be to many). Sometimes takes hours to find what your looking for.
- I think the spawn time is to high on bandits, it really destroys trade in places like Chester. Yes you can spawn patrols, but theres a hugh amount all the time even after clearing a path.
- There is a mesh missing on a norman helmet. Keep getting this error when looking at the armour in cities.
- King Henry won't make peace with France or Scotland even though hes losing as time goes on. Lost York, Bordaeux and Bamburgh. I can't do anything as its to early in the game for me to make any real impact. I did notice last time i played this a while back it was extremely hard for the English to get through this in your mod.

If i remeber anymore i'll come back. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I kinda messed up.  I saved and quit, then rejoined.  Now the merchant talks to me like I'm commanding in battle, so that doesn't work for me.  I guess I'll just start over, lol. I'll keep it in mind in case it happens again :smile:

I had this happen as well, what I did was leave the town and then re-enter and it then resolved the quest.

I also had the problem (i choosed holy roman empire), but it occured to solved itself after 10 minutes waiting the enemy bugged himself out of the wall again... but enabling cheats for this case sounds like a good plan, I think my mind could be strong enough to not seduce it ^^.

Troop costs could be out of whack. A medium to high tier Byzantine army (no mercs) of 35 costs about 2400 per turn, is this by design?

Yes.
No more people willing to die for couch change.
It's been toned down more and more as the version went, actually.  :???:

Is there a global modifier in module.ini I could change to get somewhat closer to vanilla? I understand the rationale, but I can't imagine what a 100-man army would cost as it stands.

Between the party inventory, pillaging, ransomming, and upped revenues and mercenary wages, not more than what you'll earn with it, unless you're doing something terribly wrong (like having an army entirely of tier 4)

I think you may be right, I had a closer look and noticed mercenary wages appear to scale with the size of your army.
 
Hey, first of all this is a great mod but I get these errors on every startup
SCRIPT ERROR ON OPCODE 507: Invalid Item Kind ID: 841; LINE NO: 5537 (and 16 more all the way to 5553)

Reading through this thread I saw that this might be a corrupted download or install so I will try to do those things again.

I also don't seem to get any special equipment in character creation for choosing an allegiance to a nation (say, Kingdom of Sweden or Roman Empire of Nicaea) but that might be related to that other problem I guess.

EDIT: Nope, didn't work :sad:
 
First I want to say that I love this mod and all that is being done to try and keep it historical.  Thank you for all of your hard work guys.

On a bug note:  this is very small, but I noticed that each level of prisoner management increases your prisoner capacity by 5, but in the character skill screen it says each level increases your capacity by 15.  I am not sure which is wrong, but I wanted to mention the discrepancy.  I couldn't find this mentioned elsewhere, but apologize if this has already been addressed.  Have a great day.
 
When you tell your heroes to autoupgrade from the loot they will always drop any arrows the have on, so I have to provide them with arrows every time I choose auto upgrade.
 
I tried playing without installing the minor fix, first of all the loading screens were different which kind of surprised me and then I got no error at all. Installing the fix brings forth the errors :sad:

Perhaps if some kind soul could upload a .zip of their module folder (sans music but patched) I could try that and see if it's just me.
