ok this started in .711 i got this weird haze over the screen everytime i played kinda like a whitish film. i tried screencaping it but no luck. the screencaptures looked perfectly normal. this was a werid phenomenon..so i decided not to pley anymore until the next udate (i couldnt see at thing more than 1/2 the time) so i did just installed yesterday and today i load the game ...the haze is gone but the text is now all blurry. i managed to get a proper screen shot of this on the start menu but it is the same everywhere else in game.

any suggestions on how ot fix this?[/img]

You mentioned in other thread you were using Omega's drivers... which has Anisotropic Filtering enabled at 2X by default.

In ATI Tray Tools, Direct3D settings, change Anisotropic Filtering (and Anti-Aliasing if its not set already) to "Application Controlled".

Checked, text does get fuzzier the higher AF is set.

I couldn't get a result quite as bad as yours, the Radeon's XGA scaling might be contributing to the problem as well. The game copies its resolution settings from your desktop, so try different desktop resolutions (16:9, 4:3 aspect) before starting the game.

ok i will try that a few other things i seem to be having prblms with are the chainmail or anykind of mailt hat used to look just awesome now looks like a grey blur and ALL the trees look like theyve been eaten by beavers (depends on angle of view) or somthing here is a beaver pic and a ugly grey blur pic...maybe theyll change after i fidle with that stuff tho

well i tried the anitaliasing and scroping stuff but it was already set to what it was suposed you have told me what it was suposed to be on.

On the other hand i checked some settings that were set to high performance and i changed them to quality aaaaannnnndddddd....

IT WORKED   for the text and even for the textures

On the other hand my trees are still infested with that beaver problem

thx a load for your help guys...i will finally go play M&B again without needing a new pair of glsses

Yep, just discovered that myself.

MipMap Detail Level set to High Performance causes text distortion. Performance through Quality settings are ok.

That's probably going to hold true for most Radeon cards, Catalyst or Omega drivers matters not.

Also discovered MipMap Detail Level set to Performance gives a significant frame rate boost when using zoomed view versus mipmap quality and high quality settings. Otherwise I usually see a big fps hit when zooming. Highly recommended performance tweak!

If your altering the settings on the card then your overriding the game settings.

Performance settings usually means the card will attempt to take as many shortcuts as possible, whether the game engine supports them or not, which is why you'll see graphical corruption with those set.

Application controlled is generally the best setting where possible, otherwise somewhere between performance & quality would offer the most compatability (quality settings often attempt to apply graphical retouches to improve the image).
