Resolved [Bug] Mercenary leaving faction negative relations

Hello,

The game seems to consider Mercenary contracts the same as an oath of fealty when ending your contract aka leaving the faction you signed up with for the mercenary contract you get negative relations with everyone in that faction.

Indeed. It's actually terrible because it means there's no point trying to be a mercenary. You get none of the benefits of signing up with a faction but all of the drawbacks.

Confirming. Same issue and as far as I know it is common. Also, the relation points gain with nobility is broken. Like, completely.

Indeed. I'm actually thinking it's probably just not implemented yet. I've not seen a single one offer a quest. The "can I ask a quick question" dialogue option has nothing beyond that. Influence seems to be used to barter for fiefs rather than trying to raise support.

I have done quests for lord and ladies. A couple of times they gave me some mercenaries who they didnt want anymore but couldnt get rid of. I then had to sell them to another lord or lady using the 'convince'system. I just think its very rare to come across and they havent added more quests with them.

I have run across this quest once or twice and it worked but first of all it is very rare, and speaking of reputation I do not only mean quests, but all the actions, that should have a positive impact, but have none at all instead,

For example:
-Aiding lords in battle
-Giving gifts
-Destroying bandit hideouts ( With this one it even says that the destruction supposedly increases your relations with nearby notables by 2, but I have never noted any change at all.
-Attacking the enemy of your faction
I even gave the Dragon Banner to a king, he told me how much he is grateful and so on, but relations remained unchanged.

I am sure that one could find more examples, but this is enough to just outline the issue.
In my main playthrough I also came acoss an issue, where the game treats mercenary contract as a vassalage, therefore after breaking it I got -20 relation points with everyone who was in the faction at that time, making it actually impossible to fix this situation.

That's true! These things should have more of an impact for doing them. And I got the same problem with being a mercenary. I attacked a castle with just my party as a mercenary and won, but I couldn't get it because i wasnt a vassal. Then i reloaded a save from before the siege so i could exit as a mercenary and conquer the castle for my own (to complete the quest for making my own empire) but then got -20 on everyone wich meant my castle was quickly taken over again by my former faction...
