Bug - get infinite troops by exploiting party creation

When I create a new party around a companion, the companion seems to get a small number (around 15) out of nothing. It doesn't come from your garrisons or your own party. I can then move the troop to my party and disband the companion's party. Rinse and repeat to get infinite troops.

I wanted to say this  but i was hiding it. They can get more. like 30 if they have high steward and leadership.

i do hope they make it so you can order your companion to gather troops from certain lands, or so that they gather troops from their own culture.
I am already having enough trouble getting battanian highborn with all the battanian lords gathering troops there, do not need my own companions snatching up those troops xD

Smart idea! There were mods like that on warband, Where you could assign npc's to fetch you troops.

Yeah, I mean, I was a big proponent of having mixed armies in Warband, Vaegir archers, Swadian knights, and Nord huscarls, but now I'm spending half my game time trying to fill my party with Highborns and Squires XD

I think this was probably put in because if they started at 1, and ran to a village or city to start recruiting, they would be captured by looters right out of the gate. I'm not sure what the fix should be, maybe start them with recruits and charge a cash amount for the initial recruiting?

I was a big proponent of having all 1 kind of unit in Warband. The way Training worked seemed to reward you for doing that. So I'd run around with armies of nothing but the Khergit Lancer troop chain. it was probably the best jack of all trades unit type until you were a master trainer and could regularly train Knights of Mamluks.

using armies made entirely out of huscarls also worked miracles

I was beginning to wonder whether this was an potential exploit. I was thinking it could be a great tool for boosting numbers when being chased down by a much larger enemy - but even then it didn't occur to me that I could just spawn endless troops.

I presume the future solution will be to simply split your existing force. You could choose to have your companion set off with no troops whatsoever, but then it'd be partly your own fault if they get taken by looters.

Still, I'd love to be able to assign specific missions to companions, like those already suggested; not just go off and gather more units though, perhaps, when your army gets too big, take certain units back to a fief and add them to the garrison, or escort prisoners, or scout ahead or even go off and fetch some food; either by asking the local villages nicely, or not...

I set up two of my companions around Omor, my only fief, which was then precariously situated on the frontier. I hoped that they would hover around the area and act as some form of patrol or help me form a rapid-reaction-force to any Sturgian retaliatory attacks, but, bless them, they both sought their own personal glory, and quickly galloped off after the rest of the Battanian armies presently picking a fight with the Aserai, because why not...
