Just tested the bonuses on a fresh 1.01 set of campaigns to determine which one is the best. At least in this test, there is no difference provided from a Khuzait or Battanian culture bonus.
Test Method:
1. Start a new character, pick all the top line choices for each background.
2. Skip the tutorial and walk NE to the sheep model near the closest village to starting position. Measure plains speed.
3. Walk north into the forest, measure forest speed.
Results:
Battanian Culture Background:
Plains speed = 7.92
Forest speed = 5.55
Khuzait Culture Background:
Plains speed = 7.92
Forest speed = 5.55
Horse speed was 34 in both groups. Inventory weight was 11 in both groups.
Conclusion:
Culture movement does not apply within the test cases. It might be that culture bonuses have a larger impact at the later stages of the game, but in the beginning, there is no difference.
