[BUG] 625 Assertion Failed at Server Screen

Scorch!

Sergeant Knight at Arms
This has been reported in the bugs sticky, but this is a serious enough issue that it deserves its own topic.

In version 625, whenever I enter the server screen and search for servers in anyway, I get this assertion failed message:
assertionfailedrgltimer.jpg
Only one time, I was able to search and join a server without this message appearing, but it seemed to be a freak accident, and I have been unable to repeat it. Otherwise I am completely unable to play multiplayer at all, since trying to ignore the message just has it pop back up over and over again.

I also reported this problem in http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,81111.0.html
Excatly same message and same problem

I still have a few previose versions on my comp wich i can use that dont have this problem at all.. its just v625 that has this problem

ignore aint working for me, it wil lcrash half way and sounds get stuck and i have to ctrl alt del to switch it all off

I would just like to add that I was able to get past the message recently, by repeatedly clicking ignore until I was only just able to select a server to join before the error popped up again, at which point I was able to join the server.

But then once I was in the server, I would get the same error at the start of a new round, even when I was spectating.

I am getting the error also, and have also tried the ignore option, it will continue and then crash again a minute later, then i hit ignore and it repeats over and over...

I'll join the list of errored players.

Assertion failed!

Program: ...
File: .\src\client_network.cpp
Line: 118

Expression: rglTimer::get_real_time() - Last_processed_packet_receive_time >= 0.0f

The error was displayed after clicking 'Join Game' in the character select screen.  While the error was displaying, the game music was still audible, but no tab was showing in the taskbar.
Upon clicking 'Retry', the music skipped for roughly 2 seconds, and then a second Windows error message appeared with the commonly encountered "This program was ended, send report?" message.

This error was replicated by a second attempt.
Firefox (usually running in the background while I play) was closed, yet the error persisted for a third and fourth time.

Test system:
    * Athlon 64 X2 3800+
    * 2GB DDR 400MHz
    * GeForce 9600GSO 768MB - nVidia driver version 6.14.11.9062
    * WinXP Pro SP3
    * Firefox was the only other active program, and usually does not interfere with M&B.  Avast! Anti-Virus also in background.
