BSOD .711

I have a character I've built up to about a 13. I've only had minor problems so far. I had a BSOD the first time I installed it but I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it worked fine untill now.

Everytime I try to load up my character it take a while to load, I see the bottom tools pop up(Quests, Inventory, etc.) then it goes right to the blue screen. I copied down the technical mumbo gumbo it said to me because I have no clue what any of it means. I'm not all that great with this stuff

I don't have a clue about this sort of stuff. The blue screen also mentioned stuff about hitting F8 and doing some BIOS thing. I don't understand any of it. I haven't tried creating a new character yet but I'll do it later and see what happens with that.


Update:

I started a new character since this and it ran fine. Then I suddenly got the blue screen repeatedly after starting the saved game up. The technical info it gave was a little bit different than the last one though.

ialmdd5.DLL has to do with your video card drivers. Try downloading the latest version of those and see if the problem persists.

I have this exact same problem, and have a workaround. Start a new game, then exit to the menu and load your old one.

ialmdd5.dll is an Intel graphics chipset driver; I can't install the latest version, and Toshiba hasn't supplied an OEM version for my computer. But the game works fine, and it hasn't crashed yet when starting a new game... only when loading an old one. And I noticed that quitting a game and then reloading it worked fine. Hence the workaround.

I only just tried this last night (and then got too carried away playing my restored game to test it more thoroughly). But I hope it works for others.
