Blue Screen Of Death:

Occurs on the menu screen, whenever I click on anything other than 'Cancel'. Bluescreen if I click on 'Play Game', 'Configure', or even 'Visit the website'.

And it's: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I have no idea what might be causing this. I've got the latest drivers for my gfx card (6800LE) I've tried disabling all background processes, disabling my second monitor (anyone have this running on a dual monitor setup btw?), turning off various things in the config (like sound, etc).

I have DirectX 9.0c. My ram (512MB PC3200) is tested and fault-free. I have about 60GB of free space on my HDD, and my processor is an Athlon XP 2600+

I've got Windows XP Pro and Service Pack 2.


I've been trying to get this to work for nearly 2 hours, and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Use Search. There is a topic for this already , and im fairly certain they explain how to fix it.

I did search before I made the topic.

Existing BSOD topics seem to relate to problems occuring during the game, or when loading the save. I'm getting the crash when trying to do *anything* from the menu screen. The suggested solutions entail updating drivers, directx, and using different config settings - all of which I've tried, but they've made no difference.

I'm using DirectX9.0c, and the latest nvidia display drivers.

Still no luck. And it's a real shame because I really wanted to play this game.

I can'ty even run the 'bugcheck' diagnostic test because that bluescreens on me too.

Update:

Finally gave in and tried a fresh reinstall of windows (same machine, fresh hdd) and now M&B runs perfectly.

I'm running on a minimum set of installed software/drivers at the moment, so what I'll do is to reinstall everything I had before, piece by piece, and see when (if) the problem reoccurs.
