Freelancing is still there, but now you need a few relation points (5?), so do a few quests for the faction to begin with.

I can say with full honesty it is not there, I saw this same 5 relation points idea on another thread, but i have raised my faction relations with the kingdom in question to over 20, i am not a lord or a mercenary for them, and when i talk to a lord or the king there is no option to enlist in his army, does anyone have a link to this mod before the update that broke freelancing?

Maybe this requirement can be removed in the updated versions of Brytenwalda. I mean, if there will be a new version, obviously..
I believe Idibil lowered it to just 1 relation point in the new version (correct me if I'm wrong).
