As most og you know there are not many new scene props in this mod;
although we have some, of high quality, and we're greatful for the contributions.

However as scene maker I miss some props that can really help immersion in these Dark Ages (early Medieval period).
So with my poor skills at modeling I've made a few things to liven up the scenes.

Wood looks so poor and dull in native (sorry developers) so that's the main focus here.

Saxon hall

Saxon house big

Saxon house small

Pit house / Grubenhaus

Palisade dark

Palisade bright

Bench

Various logs

Tree stumps/trunks

As an example here is a Saxon village scene where most items are used.

Ideas for new scene props is very welcome but no promises.
Remember I'm very poor at this and can only do simple geometry - square houses, walls, stairs, furniture. No flora, animals or anything organic.

Its very good, exactly the same as the drawing.
As for sugestions, what about a cloths drying line or a rack for animal skins/fish.

Good job

Oh and what about a big pile of those small chopped logs, they would look much better than the other piles of timber.

Good job!

Now what needs an extra care are the textures - currently everything looks too greyish. Differentiate the color of the palisades for example from current grey to proper brown, light brown and dark brown.

Actually in time wood tends to become grey'ish. But I agree, textures could be better.

Even if nothing else is changed, I would love to see this in 1.39! Anyone else gonna put off actually 'playing' Brytenwalda to just wander around with an army a 'la freelancer and just take leave every time you go near a village or castle?

So much awesome work put into the scenes.

I think the wood textures look pretty good actually. The whole scene looks pretty similair to the picture.

Scene looks great!  Good work, Adorno!  Some props like the cross (or perhaps a stone with pagan carvings) would add some character, perhaps.

Palisade dark-the pointy ends of log would look like that just freshly cut but after a month or so they would be dark brownish/greyish. In somekind of scene involving construction current texture would look good but my problem was when I saw that fort made with those logs. I would suggest too make them tops darker for already standing buildings.

I made tops of the palisade green to indicate moss and how it would look after a short while.
But I suppose they should be dark instead.

Good idea. I must check with my historians.
I know in Ireland they didn't have the classic cross shape + at this time.

 Hey Adorno sorry i ment if you could make a pile of that chopped wood in spoiler 4 op, with the man who looks like hes chopping it   the split wood on the floor, a pile of that.

Some proper roundhouses would be great - if I ever get that good
Are you thinking Celtic or Saxon, or...?

I'm thinking something like this:
http://www.cornwalls.co.uk/photos/img1278.htm (Iron Age)
http://www.friends-of-the-flitch-way.org.uk/index.php?page=tarecroft-wood (Saxon)
http://www.deepcreektimes.com/kids/april08.html (Celtic)

Is the base/walls wattle & daub, wood or stone?

The village scene above will replace some native Saxon ones.
and I've improved a few other scenes with these new scene props.

But this project with new scene props is meant as final touches to 1.4

alright, good to know.
when will 1.4 come out?
(rhetorical question)

Adorno, this is most fabulous, and the models too. I think they fit the Warband graphics well - tidy and not overencumbered with details. It's not bad at all in this case.

I've had very little time to improve my skills in modeling due to the latest release.
But here is an old Saxon house in decay (1084 vertices):

Made soft edges on the roof after this screenshot.
