Broken Trade

Problem:

Sometimes, trade is a cool and deep part of the game. Travelling from Curaw to Velucia with a load of Iron, desperately trying to outrun that giant party of Swadian Men at Arms deserters, risking a lot for some epic profit, is cool.

Know what's less cool? Making almost the same profit with no risk whatsoever by going from Curaw to Reyvaden and selling the iron at a 300% markup.

Caravans don't go between nations of the same faction and their existence isn't simulated...or at least not well enough. Two cities that are geographically right next to each other should have roughly similar prices, but they don't. I can trade between two VERY close cities with ridiculous profit margins.

Hell, one time I bought velvet for barely over 100 denars in Jelkala, and resold it for over 900 in Velucia!

Solution:

If there's already supposed to be a system that fixes this, revise it. Otherwise...a product that is plentiful in one city should diffuse to other nearby cities. If Velucia has a **** ton of grapes, Jelkala should have a decent number of grapes. If there's a million units of iron for dirt cheap in Curaw, iron should be modestly priced and in good quantity at Reyvaden. This can either take the form of on-map caravans or it could just be implied.

Also, it seems like a lot of cities are more or less useless trade-wise...like, they don't ever have anything at a low price.
