Im not really into Multiplayer but your video proved (to me) that swinging a Spear(like actually every empire Menivalon DM buddy does) is also in warband a common way. So i don´t really get your "Bring back spear combat"

Edit: Maybe you want to choose freely in every faction over every weapon? Just a guess

The menivalon is not a spear, it's a high damage, slow speed polearm that feels very very sluggish. Warband has a more low damage high speed approach to it.

I agree with shatti, spears felt very good as a combat weapon, hell even the rhodok pikes were used in multiplayer because they were a viable weapon.

Ok, in that case, you have my support +1. Even in SP i have discussed this polearm issue (year ago with DrShinobi), but haven´t got any respond. Maybe you will change it for both.

Nice subtle shameless self-plug

Wish id be a good as a spear as you are, my hats off to you.

I think when people say spear combat is broken its because of the damage. Spears do pitifull amounts of damage compared to other weapons. Menavlion isent a spear in that context but its a sweaping polearm. All spears are polearms but not all polearms are spears

I could see certain weapons benefitting from being swingable like the spears of old, though it'd likely make many others OP.

Heck, this would be a welcome buff for the Northern Short Spear so as to compensate for its inability to effectively kill horses.

Spears only having two attacks (up and bottom) really makes it weak, so I would agree with adding another two (left and right) to make it even, but honestly I'd rather see them be thrusting moves rather than swings. Using a spear with two hands in real life is fantastic. Jabs on their own are already hard to parry because the movement is hard to see and fast, and you have all those directions you can thrust into, but in this game we only have two directions and it can be blocked as long as the mouse movement is the same.

I do agree. I am probably biased though, as polearms are my favorite weapon, I would like to have some of that satisfying feel back from Warband.

You can s-key while stabbing with shield in BL as well you know; with shield-bash and the faster kicklash it's even easier to prolong a fight and force them to push onto your spear/kick.

I don't know why they removed the side swings from spears, yet kept them for Menavlion. Should be the total reverse.

Then why didn't they limit the swings on 1h weapons which cause the exact same issue for AI lol
1h weapons are shorter and get stuck less than spears. 2h weapons are also generally shorter than spears. Don't ask me about menavlion tho that thing also confuses me.

I really want to see 2h spears being better. It's really underrated in this franchise. I'd love spears to have four different stabs, but I can see how it will be difficult for players to discern, so my hope is low. I was thinking maybe a high-leveled perk that gives your thrusts a chance to go through parries will do, but people hate crush-through mechanics too.
