No, I didn't use any mods.
Summary: When starting up the game the beginning scene runs fine but as soon as it reaches the Brightness calibration scene, everything freezes. I can move my mouse, but I can't move the scrolls, or click either of the cancel/accept buttons. I can't even use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to shut down the window, the only way to end it is to fully shut down the computer via the power button.
How to Reproduce: Unsure, happens before the game has even started
Scene Name (if related): N/A
Media (Screenshots & Video): Computer becomes unresponsive during Bug, screenshots unavailable

My friends found the solution to the problem, it's very simple

In display settings in windows settings, set it to 1200 x 1600 resolution. Obs' If it doesn't appear, put it in multiple displays, Extend these displays.

And finally, in Orientation place; Portrait.

this 1200 x 1600 resolution worked, but test it out.

sorry for the english i'm brazilian.

Your English is pretty good, way better than my Portuguese would be XD

Tried, the windows display settings are unreachable, but I appreciate the suggestion anyway

The issue is still in progress.
I started it up a few minutes ago and still have the same result, only it fluctuates between freezing on the brightness calibration screen and freezing on the loading screen. I am trying to be patient as I know the team likely has a lot to deal with, but it's been just over 5 months now, was wondering if any progress has been made? If the issue is not fixable I understand, would just like some kind of resolution so I can either play the game or refund it.

Appreciate the time.

Was this issue always the case or do you remember any updates prior to this?
Can you try deleting the contents of "C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Shaders" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\Native\TileSets\pages" folders and verifying your game files?
If that does not work, please copy the contents of the spoiler part below and save it as engine_config.txt on the Configs folder of the games documents folder. This is very low settings config to see if this will work.

I did both, one after another and neither changed anything. Since I checked it again this month I can't even get to the Brightness Calibration screen - I'm stuck on the loading screen. I left it running for 30 minutes after doing the first thing you recommended (deleting from those folders and then validating the game files) and it was still on the loading screen.
