Well you never think your going to be a victim of it but there I was a meagre 24 hours ago minding my own buisness when it began. Strange happening came about my computer to the point where yesterday i was shutting down a random pop up (which I never get) when Windows defender, Sophos Anti-Virus, steam, TS and a few other things. Now I was largely wierded out by this but I thought you know my PC has been on for 48hrs plus, I know I've felt similiar when awake this long so I left it to it.
Today (after many times) I get this pop up of a particularly well endowed aryan woman telling me "You're really sexy" and "Im really horny and..." you get the idea so I decide I'll use my brain for the first time today (this was at 18:00 btw) and got rid of the pop up and opened sophos anti virus and do a full scan and open microsoft defender. Sophos is working alright but it being a full scan and me having 400gb's + of random **** its going to take a while. Whereas Windows defender would open and gave me an error and now that im trying to find it to tell you the error it seems to have disappeared from PC. Anyway onto my emails. For the last few days MSN just hasn't worked so I've had change the url to get to the main page to log in. Anway after checking my emails tonight just after my Sophos started scanning I see an email from HSBC (2 actually but identical in everyway) saying someone has tried to multiple times access my account, so obviously I get worried and decide to get my wallet at the ready, and again my brain lurched into motion, "Ey up lad, this dun't sound quite right" so I decided to right click the link that I was supposed to goto and low and behold I get a forum website (I think), for gamers. <snip virus url> now if you click it and watch it cleverly turn to HSBC yet still in the URL it says the name of the forums website.
In conclusion I tried to think what brought about this so I looked through my downloads of the past few days which consisted of =
So I thought it through and I came to the conclusion of Fraps. Why might you say fraps, it is arguably a good video recording software. Well while downloading Fraps I got a little unwanted gift. Norton AV. Now Im not sure if they have a vendetta against me or what but the last time I got rid of Norton it gave me trogans and a few virus's (free version)
So the reason im writing this is incase
1) Anyone else gets anything similiar
2) I need to refer back to something
3) to get your replies on the subject
EDIT: Oh by the way the windows defender was found at last and it was
Application failed to initialize: 0x80070006. The handle is invalid.
