Resolved Breaking into castle to help defenders results in field battle

Summary: Broke into Veron Castle to help defenders and lost 26 men but instead of a castle battle it turned into a field battle. Did it right after clicking on the enemy army and about to start a field battle before retreating after deciding castle battle would be more advantageous.
How to Reproduce: Probably try the same thing again?

I've been informed that this behaviour is intended. Until the sally out missions is implemented this is normal. If the player waited inside the castle for attackers to commence the siege battle it would be the defence siege.

This bug still exists!

Just had it happen to me on 1.8. i was up against a large army and had a maxed-out settlement. I broke in to defend while the siege already started and it forced me to do a field battle! Really unfortunate.
