Break-ins and robberies, oh dear

I couldn't find a thread on this for necro-ing, even though I thought there would be something of the sort.

Anyways, share yer stories of house break-ins and robberies, possibly even murders, in your house or in your neighborhood.

Here's mine:
As my father was driving me back from a friend's birthday party, we saw a bunch of cop cars around the Mac's, which is the confectionary/gas station that is basically the only reason for crime in my neighborhood for quite a ways. Every month or so there will be some minor robbery/vandalisation, and occasionally there will be a major robbery, usually when the Exhibition (closest we get to a proper carnival) is set up. (It gets set up across the street.)

A few years ago, an employee (17 year old girl, IIRC) had her face bashed against the cement sidewalk outside. She survived, but not by too much, and she had to get quite a bit of reconstructive surgery.

And sometimes, it actually affects me. Like tonight, when me and my dad went to investigate what happened (was somebody injured or killed? possibly) we got halfway there before being lightly questioned (almost 60 year old man and a 14 year old boy hardly fit the description of the suspects) and sent back. I'd say around 7-9 cars were about, as well as three or four two-man patrols with one dog, going up and down the streets and alleyways.

A bit later, at my house kicking back and some guy comes to our house and asks for a ride. My mum tells him about a bus station near the Mac's (see what the idea of returning to the crime scene does) to which he says "Okay, I'll go get my bike." Hmm. So he goes and pulls a small BMX bike from the bushes in front of our house and goes off toward the freeway.

Not the most interesting story, but it's what's on my mind right now, and I'd like to hear your experiences with the sort.

There was also the time that the SWAT team formed up outside our house to go raid the house of one of our neighbor's, who was an accountant and a meth addict who was running a brothel from his house. He was, actually, the accountant of some family friends, who are also respected local artists.
Anyways, your stories?

Along time ago, some friends of my parents went out for a meal, leaving their 2 big Golden Labradors behind. They come back after the meal and find a burglar pinned against a wall by one of the dogs, whilst another was in the garden barking madly. Turns out 2 guys had tried to nick some stuff, but one was trapped and the other one jumped through a plate glass window to get away.

Serves them right

Well, I was walking home next to the great ol rio grand and I saw some cholo dude walking towards me ( I always carry a knife with me, and my dad showed me how to use one) so I put my hand in my pocket and well in my pocket is my knife, just in case. Well he finally comes close to me and pulls out a gun, pointing it right at my head and asked for my money. So I kinda smacked his gun out of his hands which fell onto the ground. Then I pulled out my knife and sliced his arm. The stupid little punk ran off. I threw the gun in the river and just kept walking back home...... believe it or not, that's your problem.

You're right, I don't believe you.

Ya I dont think a dude with a gun is gonna come that close to ya, you need to remember you dont bring a knife to a gun fight lol

Lol ya you need to remember it was some stupid little cholo kid who I'm sure that, that was his first time even seeing a gun and yes I know a regular person wouldn't come close to another person who they attend to rob with a gun. Duh

Ah but you see, that's how I know you're making it up. If someone had ever come at you with a gun, and you had defended yourself with a knife, then you definitely would not have said what you said. Therefore, you are a liar, and I caught you in it.

The topic is Break-ins and robberies......why not? but then again I don't really care if you call me a liar that's your problem.

Even Kobrag has the decency to admit to his lies when he's caught in them, guess you're worse than Kobrag .

Right, anyways. Ya Revilo, isn't it nice to have dogs around? Sometimes at night some stupid lil gang called CMK comes to my house and tries to tag it. Luckily we have some dogs! One time we heard them barking all crazy. Me and my dad grabbed some pistols and went to go look outside. They were trespassing, so we had every right to shoot them or even kill them but we just gave them some warning shots and they never came back! lol

Yeh I love dogs. Although, our dog would probably just lick anyone that tried to break in, unless they were carrying a cat.

Don't need them, our neighborhood is a nice place. I've left the door open and gone to town for the day before, when nobody else is in. Nothing got nicked though

Wow If I did that everything in my house would be stolen lol and thank god that mage dude left I hate it when people say your lying when your really telling the truth.

Left? I didn't leave, I just thought you'd finally given up on your lie, so there was nothing else that needed to be said. Looks like you're not done with your lying ways, though.

Good, it's for the best that you submitted so quickly. Otherwise I would have disarmed you with my mad martial arts skills, stabbed you with my *****in' knife skills, sent you packing, thrown your gun in the river, and then continued on nonchalantly, as though nothing had happened.

OH NO YOU DI'AAAAAAAAHNT

In other news, we were burgled in the summer of last year, but fortunately, nothing was stolen apart from a camera that was covered under my mother's insurance. We were having minor building work done on the house, and one of the builder's hadn't padlocked the gate after he left. The police found the guy who broke in, matched his fingerprints, but the camera had already been sold.

I went swimming once, left my camera, phone and about £30 in the locker, and paid the 20p to lock it.

Came back later and the police were there. Someone had popped mine and some other guy's lockers open with a screwdriver and nicked the stuff. The police never got him, even though they had him on tape
