We have discussed that very thing but 10 hours seems too long.  And WTB Alene or Brutus?  I could be for sale to the highest bidder;  can't speak for Alene.

What about allowing new users (users with less than 24 hours on the forum) to only post once every x minutes/hours? Maybe once every 30 min or hour or something.

That is already in place but is currently limited to 20 seconds, IIRC

Setting it to 1800 seconds (30 minutes) would fix the issue pretty handily and probably wouldn't interfere with any legitimate new registree's posting much.
