That's pretty much it.
I'm running .704, I had cheats enabled to get my character back up to speed from .703, and it became necessary to ask Borcha to wait at the Inn in order to make room in the party for the kidnapped girl. It took a while for me to get back to him, as I inherited several different unit types after a battle to liberate some prisoners, and Borcha got put on hold until I had freed up more slots.
So when I came to collect him, he offered up his initial introduction, instead of offering to rejoin, as it Marnid had done time and again. So he's come down with memory loss, and tells me how he was wrongfully jailed and all that. I went back to the Count of Rivacheg and sure enough, he offered to sell me his ransom again. I purchased Borcha just as before, thinking events had reset and might unfold as before, with the same conditions met, but he still hasn't initiated the line of dialogue that will eventually bring him into the party.
I looked a while to see if this problem had been brought up, but was disinclined after looking at a good chunk of the 200 pages of irrelevant hits. So I'm here hoping either that the problem has been encountered before and solved, or that I've actually been the first to see this. As the latter is unlikely, I would ask that my request be answered without the usual "stupid lazy n00b, do a search!" diatribe. I've been playing for seasons. And I did several searches, but the thread is elusive. Being a ghost of the forums is all I've cared to be, but if anyone remembers seeing this, don't tell me it's here, tell me where, if you remember at all. I'm sorry to jump the gun in case of a negative response; every new board should be entered into in faith, true, but my own experience hasn't shown that to be prudent.
