Borcha & Marnid starting stats

I am wondering, Borchas and Marnids stats seem to be determined partly randomly. As I grow rather fond of the 2 I want them to be of maximum value to my party. This leads to having to reastart the game 10-15 times just so I can have B&M without useless stats like "prisoner management", "leadership" and 9 CHA on Marnid ...

I have already resolved to cheating just to make the recruitment procedere a bit quicker.

Start - > check Marnid Stats, if good -> check Borcha Stats -> if good play

only most of the times I have to repeat this process many many times.

Anyone found a solution to this? I don't want Ueber heroes, but would like them to have stats on par with mine or my soldiers'
 
I've done the same thing. The only thing you could do is to modify troops.txt to set their stats to something more to your liking before starting a game. If you want to do this, see the attackable peasants thread for everything we know about troops.txt.
 
I did it a bunch of times and ended up with Borcha having a 6 rider skill. This way I never had to give him any agility. They can start with skill levels beyond the 1/3 stat limit.
