Okay. Could you check my cc ?
Credits seem to be wrong.
Resources used did not get subtracted. (Did the associated orders fully go through? Is no mention of it)

Open Broadcast by Kondal Arnel, Captain of the star ship Hephaestus:

We are an independently owned merchant vessel seeking favorable trading opportunities in this sector. We specialize in assisting in manufacturing and in salvage and repair operations. We prefer payment in funds, dark matter or heavy metals but will not turn down other reasonable offers.

Welcome to the sector. Remember to stop by Catana COR for all your freeport needs. We've got booze, hookers and cage fights on the level 8 mezzanine every Saturday.

I'm morally opposed to the barbarity of forcing innocent cages to fight each other, but we'd be happy to take you up on the booze and hookers if we're in the area.

Everything Begins With Mining!

VNzwX.jpg

As we expand our reach throughout our universe, it has caused me on occasion to take the time to reflect why it is we have dedicated our lives to mining. Sure, on the surface, some might think that mining is all about having a secure and lucrative career, but if we dig a little bit deeper, I think it becomes clear that it’s about a whole lot more than that.

It doesn’t matter who you are, without the hundreds of thousands of material benefits that come from the mining industry, our universe would be completely different. Eliminating the minerals that are mined, processed, smelted and refined by Helium-3 Mining and Manufacturing Corporation and other corporations like us would mean that the average civilian’s daily life would be much more primitive than the so-called “good old days” of centuries gone by. When you come down to it, it’s really impossible to escape the myriad things we use every day — and take for granted — that come from the mines across the Domain.

And mining’s life-changing contributions aren’t just limited to the critical mineral resources we provide. In every Human Domain community, whether large and small, the positive influences of the mining industry can be seen, enjoyed and appreciated. Helium-3 Mining and Manufacturing Corporation’s contributions to the community have always been generous and good for everyone’s way of life, be it in the form of financial support for worthwhile causes, or in the form of cultural, educational, recreational and security facilities that mining’s taxes help provide. Mining has left its mark in so many beneficial ways throughout the Domain’s history. It is for this reason that the industry can sincerely say,
“Everything Begins With Mining!”

Contact us with how we can better your life.

Carl Forrester, CEO of Helium-3 Mining and Manufacturing Corporation

"Does Crime Really Pay?”
By. Human Domain News

phVbz.jpg

The Human Domain released its annual Crime Report this past week.  With more and more people rejecting Citizenship and embracing the darker side of civilization, it raises the age-old question: does crime really pay?  When examined as a purely economic business venture, I would have to say, no.

There will always be exceptions, of course.  The public eye has seen its share of infamous smugglers and pirates who have made a killing by defying the law.  In my research, I learned that the true entrepreneurs of illegality are the ones who aren’t notorious, who don’t get stories and Vids fictionalizing their adventures.  They are the ones who you’ve never heard of and, if they get their way, you never will.

While it’s true that the average criminal gets to avoid things like ever-increasing taxes and landing tariffs, guild dues and insurance that burden the legitimate community, you have to keep in mind that they are burdened with persistent expenses of their own:

Ship Repairs

Most haulers, shippers, and average Citizens don’t take kindly to having their livelihood stolen.  Latest statistics estimate that eighty percent of bandit attacks lead to a battle of some kind.  Since your livelihood depends on attacking others, odds are you aren’t going to get out unscathed.  Therefore, you can expect fairly regular trips to your mechanic.  Which leads us to the illegal chop shops and patch-up joints around the systems that cater to the criminal element, clientele that won’t want the usual paper trail or will require illegal modifications/repairs.  One can expect a significant mark-up price-wise to do business with these types, if they don’t find more profit in shooting you and taking your ship for themselves.

Legal Fees

If you get caught, the amount of Creds needed to mount an average legal defense is pretty staggering.  Since most people don’t dream of being dumped on a prison world, you’ll want to keep a defense fund handy.

Low Offload Prices

One could view theft as the ultimate risk/reward.  If pulled off without a hitch, it’s all profit, right?  Sadly, the reality is much different.  With cargo-tagging on the rise, it’s getting harder to move stolen merchandise so you either need to find a Buyer who’s willing to purchase stolen goods or a Fence who has the tech to re-tag the merch.  Bottom line is that you will be getting well under market value for the goods, sometimes as much as 60% less than it is worth in legitimate sale.  It’s a buyer’s market out there.  You’re the one in possession of stolen goods, not them.

Medical Costs/Dangers

Like your ship, the criminal lifestyle will put you in all sorts of life-threatening predicaments anything from injury sustained during a heist to the ‘deal goes bad’ scenario.  Whatever the reason, the odds are high that you will need to be patched up or have body parts replaced.  Unfortunately, you can’t just waltz into your local Medical Station or Cyber Doctor without risking suspicious doctors and surveillance feeds to the Human Domain so you are left dealing with underground doctors who will cut you to the bone with medical costs and hush money.

The Price of Identity

The criminal life is like quicksand; the more you ‘work’ the easier it will be to catch you.  For every ship you hit, your reputation will grow which means that more local cops will be looking for you.  Eventually, the Human Domain will get involved.  To stay ahead of them, you have to minimize your identity impression.  That means building up a cache of fake ID tags.  As you move from system to system, you need to know what identities have been used and when, if there’s a possibility that the tag has “gotten dirty” by being linked to one of your attacks.

Bribes

There will be times where you will need to ‘grease some palms’ for information on shipping routes, cargo manifests, or for unscrupulous political and law enforcement to look the other way.  As the Human Domain statutes on corruption and bribery carry stiff penal and financial penalties, the average criminal should be very careful when attempting to bribe someone regardless of whether it’s their first or fiftieth transaction.

Closing Statement

To me, it seems obviously that the financial strain of criminal endeavors feels vastly inferior to the potential rewards. Not to mention there is also the physical and psychological strain that existing in this world must have on your psyche.

Consider this before you travel too far down this path.

Open Letter from the InTran Chairman

Greetings Pel's Aurora Citizens,

Another month down, and what a busy month it was! Missions have been completed, warlords have checked in, planets have been visited, and lastly colonists have been dispatched. Let's review:

Helium-3 Mining and Manufacturing Corporation:

Helium-3 Mining and Manufacturing Corporation of the Earth Partnership Trade Guild has set up in a number of areas thanks to popular demand. They hope to be your primary supplier for all your helium needs for years to come. Any questions or if you would like them to set up in your area or questions regarding what benefits they can bring you should be directed at them.

InTran Tour Still Under Way:

Our planetary visits this past month have left our investors very happy and thus we have left some planets with some very happy Governors. Our tour continues this month with visits to Iota Zulu, Psi Olmpia, Euerythro, Viga Mizar, Neurhone, and Nueluzon Systems. We look forward to visiting these gracious hosts and hope to part as very gracious guests.

Voluntary Donations:

Donations were lead the previous month and now this month by Darei Valkier of Dracona II. The resources will be put to good use and your reward an S Class Colony Ship is en route to you this month. We hope you enjoy your new highly skilled workforce.

A Call to Expansion:

No attempts were made to make a new colony in Iota Ermina but we have news of attempts in Catana Cor.  We will visit this attempt of a colony next month and set up aid if we find the attempts to be more than just a cash in. We also want to be sure this colony is not not controlled by the rogue element. Details on that in a few.

Iota Ermina System:

Nobody has destroyed these pests in the system so we will be upping the payment to 2K in credits per ship. Fear of their success against past human ships has us believing they might start to branch out of the system if unmatched.

Catana Core Independent Space Station:

No contact has been established by the Independent Space Station again to consider subcontracting with us to legally stay within our domain. Two months of being ignored is enough. The Space Station is now considered a rogue nation operating inside our space and anyone that brings this station back under the Human Domain's control or destroys this pirate den will be paid. Reward is negotiable.

Open Bounty On Celestial Objects:

Bounties have been rolling in and as they continue to do so we will continue to update our public information for you. Keep them coming and we will keep paying!

Human Domain Expedition Fleet:

The fleet arrived safely at their destination and was met with some well received protection escorts to help them on their way. The Human Domain has your gratitude.

InTran Registration:

We are happy to see some new faces that have presented themselves to us. They were given some upgrades and will receive exclusive missions when they are available. Registration is still open.

Fresh news for your area....

Unidentified Space Ship Signatures:

We have been given reports out of Viga Mizar by the Frontier that a large galleon sized class vessel escorted by two frigate class vessels of unknown origin and make have entered their system. They ask for assistance in this matter.

Shipment of Resources:

A ship able to carry 100 cargo is needed to transport atmospherics to Viga Mizar's Frontier Colony from Nueluzon. Any ship that can do it will be paid by the Frontier upon arrival of the goods which can be picked up at the Human Domain system.

Probe Defence Network:

The Human Domain in working with us has produced a set of 28 manned detection probes that need to be placed in the center of each parsec along the borders of our territory. This manned defense system will allow us to better prepare for encounters. Each probe picked up and placed will earn you 200 Credits. They take up 10 Cargo Space each.

Looking to buy some Ships:

The Frontierman's Commitee is looking for Cutter Class ships for sale and is willing to pay double their cost for them so they can better interact with the colonies here.

Looking to Sell some Ships:

The Human Domain has just decommissioned some older ships and will be selling them off. Contact the Human Domain if interested in a purchase.

Human Domain Zoological Bounty:

The famous Zoo is looking for non-sentient previously unknown creatures for their zoo. Any mating pairs will be paid in their weight in pounds to credits, plus some extra if really exotic. Any animals can be brought to the Human Domain HQ for payment.

Incoming Warlord Menace:

A Warlord who styles himself as the Red Death has been lost by authorities after entering parsec A1. This Warlord is highly armed and very dangerous and was last seen likely travelling with smaller attack ships in tow. The current credit bounty on him is 5,000 credits for theft of antimatter, sale of illegal narcotics, aiding and abetting fellow outlaws, sale of classified data, indecent exposure, wanton destruction of 12 ships, Serious arson of a populated space station, grand theft of a government military ship and the death of over 100 people including 12 police personnel. Those not prepared for heavy fighting are advised to report his location to the Human Domain and stay clear of him.

That's all for now. Wish you the best until next month!
