mobilisation or not, cities have town militia/ garrisions. And storming most cities in one year (even with minimal forces present) will be extremely costly and also be a logistical problem. But it might be possible, depending on how willing and loyal the populace is. If towns just surrender instantly it or worse, declare it in advance, it can go pretty fast.

In other news!

Progress is going beautifully. Everything except resources is either completely done and needs to be put into the tool, or just about finished. Navy, culture, food production are already in the BoP tool for every nation. I can say with almost complete certainty that all nation cards will be finished by next weekend, and ideally the OP will be finished too so we can start the game. If not, it'll be a few days after that.

In even better news, HULK and I (Mostly HULK! He's awesome when it comes to this stuff) made spreadsheets and calculators for almost all of our systems. While this made Turn 0 take longer with more time taken between thread going up and cards going out, it means that future turns will be far easier to do. Despite this game being far more complex than many previous BoP games, it will take the same amount of time to produce reports, or even possibly less! Very excited to see how that all works out.

Pretty much this by pretty much everyone I think. If anything this game suffers from too much processing downtime.

Progress update!
I've finished everyone's economies and technology, and eternal is finished with militaries, and is working on deploying them onto the map.

All that's really left to do is resources and writing the OP. Expect the report by this weekend, if not before.

He doesn't use the forum much, but I can vouch for him. He's very historically knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I think he'll make a great addition to the game. Now please don't scare him away too quickly, yes?
