Bodyguards?

(To be clear, by bodyguards here I mean as in escorts present off the battlefield)
I know it is not possible to have bodyguards at present, but apparently the Brytenwalda folks have some way of making some companions bodyguards based on loyalty or something of the sort. (Sorry to be so imprecise, but I haven't played that mod a ton lately and none of my characters there have one yet)

Is that something that could even be considered here? (I don't think it is an essential, but I find it an amusing bit of fluff)

It's doable. In certain mission templates there can be a small script that goes through the player's current companions and if they for example fulfill a relation criterion then they get spawned close to the player (at the start of ambushes etc). A cap of one or two companions as bodyguards would be good to have to make it not too easy. Maybe a quest needs to be done in order for the companion to assume a bodyguard role ...

Something to consider for PoP4 perhaps ...

Umm... what do you want to consider since you said the feature was doable?
Pardon my English.

Isn't it in Brytenwalda? I mean I haven't played it ever(still trying ), but there is something like that in features' list...

Treebeard means it will not get into the current version of PoP3.3, but it will be investigated by the team for PoP4. One needs to consider all angles, like would it make ambushes to easy or have other less obvious side effects.

When you get ambushed by 6 D'Shar Assassin, you NEED a companion

I'm playing with almost everything setting at hard, so i get 1-2 shot before dying even in full plate. Also I think that a Lord should never walk alone in the night.

Everytime I have to fight those guys I end with a knife in my face and 10-15k denars less

Even a lord can turn his heels and run for cover, his life and the next exit using the old zig-zag avoid missle style while strapping his shield on his back to suck up those nasty knives.

Try it out. It greatly enhances survivability in such occasions as you get the two seconds break to ready yourself without danger of getting sixteen throwing knives into your face. Crossbow headsniping is awesome as well in such situations, but you need a city for it. And have a vague graps of it´s outlying, otherwise you´ll know why it´s called a dead end.

You usually end up dead before you can ready it since you´re caught flat footed and they throw theese dreaded knives as snakes speed.

No I'm not. Quickly get out your shield as you sidestep, then block the next volley get out sword or whatever and move forward to kill, sneak around to their flank as you move forward.

I am annoyed at sneaking into places and starting with two archers infront of you, and two melee guys DIRECTLY behind your back (in bloody sword range), and for some reason you choose to wear a stick, a robe and a few pancy knives though.

Before i can even move i tent to have several knifes stuck to my face  sometimes i can kill one before they reach me but darn it 5+ assassins that face hug you, you wont get a chance to counter and impossible to run away lol.

Ive won once... but that was when they got stuck on a object so i could wack em without getting face hugget to death.

Thats good to hear, I for one would be very glad to see something like this feature. It feels a bit silly to walk around alone knowing theres a price on your head when you have a 200 man army sitting around.
