Board Shields - Can they be worn *on your back* while on horseback?

Hey all -- I've searched both on Google and via the Taleworlds forum search engine, but I can't find an answer to the following question:

Even though the descriptive text for each Board Shield in the game mentions "Cannot be used on horseback," I'm curious to know if this also refers to the ability to wear them on your back while on horseback.

I wanted to test this in-game, but despite being 800 days in on my current campaign, I've never had a board shield drop for me in the pool of loot you get after a fight, and there's one in particular I really want to buy at the armorer in Durquba, but it's going for almost 10k denars and I don't want to spend that much to test it only to find out that it can't be worn on your back while you're on horseback and end up out 10k denars. I've disabled quitting without saving, and though I know it's irrational, I don't want to save scum to test this.

You cannot have them out or block with them on horseback, but you can keep them on your shoulders, yes.

Speed is your best ally on a horse so not being able to block arrows while on horseback won't hurt too much since if your always moving, arrows won't likely hit you anyway.

Actually yes while on horseback the shield will stay on thy behind,i disagree with looter because what if you are trying the 'ball' strategy?Then you would want a shield especially if thy faces sea raiders
