Introduction

Hello, and welcome to our next iteration of Bannerlord Native League, a tournament that has been around since 2022 and will go into its second season this March. The basic idea behind BNL was to improve on the previous tournaments such as BEAST, which was hosted for eight seasons by Aeronwen and her admin team.

However, due to certain inconsistencies and problems with the rulesets of the prior tournaments, our admin team and I had the idea of hosting our very own tournament, kindly taking the name of the Warband version of this competition. In our first tournament from November to December 2022, we managed to gather 26 competitive teams, spread out over 4 divisions, ranging from Division A to Division D.

In our second season of BNL, we strive to further improve upon the experiences we gained from BNL1 and tried our best to make the gameplay-experience as fun and competetive as possible. With that goal in mind, we brought forward some more changes to the ruleset as well as the map-pool among others. Our main aim was to actually provide the community with a tournament that could be enjoyed by anyone who played it, without causing any unnecessary drama in and among the community.

One of the previously mentioned changes has also been the way we conduct our matches, by which I am referring to our very own tournament servers, kindly provided by Gotha. Those have guaranteed much stability and brought a fluent and un-interrupted gaming experience to the participants of the tournament. Another one of these changes would be, that we have moved away from a forum post for sign-ups and administration and made our own Discord server with scheduling-, division- and discussion channels. This allowed us to be in closer contact to our community and also enabled us to solve certain arising issues faster.

Custom servers allowed us to live-stream tournament matches too. That was not possible before, but now streamers are able to spectate teams compete and, with the help of a streamers module show needed informations such as: (health, classes, gold) of players live. Such streams are not the only way to watch our tournament, players tend to stream their perspective from matches they play.

Lastly, I would like to take the opportunity of introducing our great admin-team, that has helped with much of the organization and execution of Season 1 and will return for the future iterations of this format:

With that, I would formally like to wish everyone a happy start into our Season 2 and encourage anyone who wants to participate to do exactly that. We have divided our tournament into several divisions, so everyone, no matter your skill-level or motivation can partake in a team. And that's what all of this is really about: Having a competetive bit of fun as a team.

Using discord as the main base for tournament and forum as the one for "important news" /results is actually better! It will definitely liven up the scene and communicativeness between everyone, also more ppl will be involved in sheitstorm :poop::fruity:.
