Blade Network International Winter Open

BNet Open is, as the name suggests, an open competition for all players. This is not an invitational competition. Everyone who joins a BNet Siege, TDM, DM, Duel or Battle server will automatically be enlisted into the competition and if you top the leaderboards, you will get a title so that everyone will recognize you when you join and perhaps a game. No special rules will be applied to this competition, this is more of a glorified season. The competition will run from 20 December 2013 to 10 January 2014.

General Information
  • A new season will start, season 3
  • A second siege server will be put online to accommodate all the new players (due to steam sales and such)
  • ELO system will go in effect, details below
  • All siege maps will be in a snowy theme
  • Updated maps by Aldarith
  • League system reworked
  • Website for the current rankings of BNet Open
  • Double XP weekends

League System and ELO
You might have heard of the ELO system, it's being used across several different games. Chess, League of Legends, Age of Empires and now here. We're using a simplified version of it.

R = 16 + (RL - RW) x 2 / N x (16 / 400)

RL = ELO rating of the loser (victim)
RW = ELO rating of the winner (killer)
N = number of players, in this case it's N = 1

The winner receives R on top of their ELO rating, while the loser will lose R from their current ELO rating.

League system has been reworked around this, it is a dynamic league system and its value will change depending on the lowest player on their respective league.
  • Grandmaster / top 20 / +200 XP for killing a Grandmaster
  • Master / top 40 / +100 XP for killing a Master
  • Diamond / top 100 / +70 XP for killing a Diamond
  • Platinum / top 175 / +40 XP for killing a Platinum
  • Gold / top 400
  • Silver / top 800
  • Bronze / 800+

Your ELO rating gets changed upon a kill and death, gamemode Siege does not care about kills and deaths and that's why ELO ratings are nothing more than a little statistical information and will not influence your place on the world and seasonal ladder.

Prizes
Winners will be decided using the seasonal ladder, so whoever has the most XP accumulated within this season wins.
  • 1st - Will receive a game and the title "Champion of BNet Open 2013"
  • 2nd - Will receive the title "2nd in BNet Open 2013"
  • 3rd - Will receive the title "3rd in BNet Open 2013"

While the prizes might not be spectacular, we hope everyone will enjoy this competition.

Thanks for reading.
