Blood Multiplier

Well I found this in the module config file and I thought, oh maybe I can add a little bit more. But for whatever reason no matter how high I set it it doesn't really seem to affect the amount of blood that sprays around at all. I even set it to 10000 in the hopes it might increase a little. What I really want to do is make the clouds that spray out look better or bigger. EG II seemed to do this. The question is how do I edit the blood sprays as I fully realize that the vertex stains are hardcoded.

I have searched but I don't really know what's up with this.

(Sorry if this has been covered a million times (as it probably has) but I am just curious)

Edit: Oh and although I do want to see a little bit more blood I also just mainly want to enhance the look of it as well. As it is its a little poof of red specks that instantly disappear. I was hoping for something a little more realistic (if that is even possible)

I'm only guessing here but you might need to edit particle_meshes.brf or particles_2.brf and related textures to get desired effect. Also - vertex blood stains aren't necessarily hardcoded. It depends how the engine handles it. It might be multiple set of textures (giving that stains are appearing in the same areas every time health level drops to certain percentage value) - so if HP drop to some degree new texture is applied to the object.
I wasn't focusing on that yet though.

Yeah particles_2 has some blood textures. Taking a look.

edit: I don't have any skill with brf edit, the blood particles don't show up on the gray area to the right. Not sure how i'm supposed to edit it then...  :???:

Edit 2:I found another thread, they mentioned something about the blood multiplier being unchangeable after version .903
I wonder if this means that you would have to get around it with code or editing textures. They seem to think its now hardcoded.

you're going about it in completely the wrong way, man. download the module system and unpack it into your native folder. in the modulesystem folder go to module_particle_systems.py, open it in notepad (or whatever), and search for "game_blood". there are two entries, game_blood and game_blood2. edit away.

look on the forums if you need more instructions on how to properly use the module system.

Sorry you misunderstand me, I know how to use the module system, I just wasn't aware that the particle python file would be of any assistance. Thanks any way (assuming that last comment was directed at me) I will take a look in there. Simple misunderstanding

Thanks for clarifying that point though. Testing it now.

Edit: I went in and increased the number of particles. It definitely made it look better but how would I go about making the sprays shoot out farther? Or maybe look a bit thicker?

mess around with the emit velocity for making the particles fly out farther...and as for thickness, well, you already said you increased the amount of particles, which is what i would define as the "thickness". maybe mess with the alpha channel? that would make the particles more visible.
