Block arrows with 2h

No, I didnt, I just didnt want to feed the trolls.

Facts:

realism:
1) Did you ever play baseball and use a bow in real life?
No? Then try this. I can hit, and I could block arrows or at least 1 of 5.

balance:
2) A medieval bow wasnt a 1 shot super wonder weapon machinegun or something, it was a peasants support weapon for the better troops. It wasnt possible to deal out headshots, it was inaccurate, it was slow, and did absolutely no damage to plate. (Only the best archers with the best bows could do a tiny bit of damage to knights.)

3) It would be impossible to block arrows with a tiny shield as well, following your arguments the only thing that could help would be the the Rhodock shield.

4) Afaik the game doesnt make a difference if its your hand that gets hit or your heart. So its a videogame not realism anyway. When a guy can die in seconds cos of 2 arrows in his hand so why shouldnt it be possible to block (with some luck) at least a few arrows?

Reality check please. Let's keep it real, last thing i need is to see Panzermarine or Wooki cock blocking my arrows.
As i'm reading this forums i thing it's very good that you are creative, but expect criticism if you fail in providing good ideea's.
Bottom line, No go.

I sincerely doubt you'd hit **** with the great (unrepresented) vision bonus those helmets offer.
And given the fact that you're here typing this, I'm sure the person shooting at you was either piss poor at shooting or wasn't shooting at you, in which case, you either wouldn't be making this retarded suggestion or you'd be dead.

While it's true that it didn't have a rate of fire of 800 per minute and that most archers were recruited from the lower classes, one could still fire roughly eighteen or so shots a minute with a bow and I think there were some members of nobility that got their title as archers. And this is before plate anyway. For the most part.

3) It would be impossible to block arrows with a tiny shield as well, following your arguments the only thing that could help would be the the Rhodock shield.
With "tiny shield," are you referring to bucklers? Because if you are, I feel compelled to note that they weren't used as missile protection.

...So its a videogame not realism anyway....

Quite frankly, I hope they'll need a Geiger counter to find your body.

so why shouldnt it be possible to block (with some luck) at least a few arrows?
Because that's what the ****ing shields are for?

Blocking missiles with strikes sounds interesting.

Giving people with no shield a passive defense against missiles sounds really really dumb to me.

Arrows aren't designed to be caught by some chap with a huge mitt in a game.

Do the research. Incompetent command had far more to do with their defeat than arrows. And while I hate to admit it, Finished is right. A man-at-arms armoured cap-a-pie in plate is all but impervious to arrow fire. Even a humble gambeson does a lot.

after taking a few hits the armours integrity would be compromised allowing arrows to go through.
aslo if were beign realistic then they should make plate almost impossible to buy, with only a tiny percentage using it, and making the wearer completly nakered after a few minutes running...so yeah!

First off, plate is light.
Very light.
Especially when compared to the equipment of a modern infantryman.
And made to fit the wearer perfectly.

Second, they're arrows, not RPGs.
It's either go through or bounce off.
There's no middle ground.

I think that a bodkin arrow might go through a plate armour(cuirass) but only if shot at a good angle.

btw. 50 pounds is a small weight?

It was usually roughly 20 kilos.
Modern equipment is 25-35. And they have to run for quite the distance in it.

running is different from jumping from side to side while swinging a big metal sword, also u have a helmet impeding fresh air and the padding under the metal is not the best thing to wear for prolonged exersice. even if it is in cold weather.

Other than your shield, I have a really handy tip for you. W,S,A,D keys are kinda useful too... its not as if people would run straight ahead, they would weave around trying to dodge arrows.

This sub forum is a little out of hand. please lock this to save anymore trouble
