BLOC - Cold War Political Simulation Game

Heidi hit about 200,000 accounts, so he's broken it rather thoroughly now. 10 to 1 Rumsod doesn't have an easy way to delete new accounts either.

Currently the forums are talking about moving on to 2 new upcoming games: Realpolitik and Heidibloc (no link as of yet).

Also of note, >Clop stops being much fun after your second week, due to the sheer amount of money you start making. The only way I could 'lose' now is if I get caught away from the computer for more than 72 hours.

Whelp, the forum mods both quit. I'm honestly surprised they lasted as long as they did, given the state of the game and the sheer number of ****posters. I don't recommend going to the forums now, unless you have a strong preference for fat and/or fecal based pornography.

What the ****. This already happened once, now again. Why didn't rumsod put safeguards of some kind in?

As a rule of thumb, online games always break once the maker openly stops updating them. Some time it's just Murhpy's Law, sometimes it's malicious users. This time is was both. Not much that you can do, really.

Go here and create a new account. Then join the Bloc Party. The game looks to be a lot more fun and developed, and we're quite the powerhouse. Everyone is in such better moods there too, since the game actually has some depth and a creator that cares about it.

Better nation set up (though government and economic types aren't implemented yet), infinitely better control over your nation's economy (you build each city up individually and you can choose what they produce as they grow), better alliance set up (with a lot more flavor added in), better resource production (each region has three key things you can produce, out of about 9 in total), and better basic army dynamics (you actually have to build infrastructure to produce an army, you have to feed said army, and things like tanks and planes have to be produced and supported via resources from across the globe). There's plenty of room for improvement, but it has the basic feel of Bloc with a lot more polish.

The downside so far is the interface that makes Civ1 look modern, and the excessive refugees from Bloc that are spamming the forum quite a bit (but the latter will be going away in about a week, and actually having an admin who cares has done a lot to keep things in check).

Huh, I enjoy P&W so far, but my god are the moderators powertrippy. They despise new players, and if you step out of line in the slightest you'll get an earful from them. I get that they want to keep things on topic, but singling out the newbies for punishment while turning a blind eye to the old hands is a very poor thing for mods to do.

I'm starting to lean that way too. If it weren't for the fact that I have friends playing them, I wouldn't bother. Same reason I stuck with Die2Nite for so long, really.
