Black screen before character creation [mods]

So in certain mods where instead of the usual "click, click, click" summary of your life there's this page where you select everything at once, now most of the time I try to get past this I crash. 

Sorry if I'm not making sense, but I mean the page such as in the 1812 - 1815 and Warriors of The Gods mods where you select everything on one page.
