Black plate armour

Hey,

While going through the Itemkinds.txt and resources I found a Black plate armour (forgive me but i don't remember in which one). Is there any way i can get them into the game? I've done some small scale modding last weeks, so it should be a big problem if somebody can get me the instructions.

Mod them in, using either the module system or morghs modding tools.

Yes, as said above, by using the program, you need to change a flag (a parameter) of that item. I think it was the "merchandise" flag or something like that. Make sure that flag is checked. You may have to  wait for a few days until new items appear in shops.

Or if all you want is to equip yourself and/or companions with black armor and you don't want it to be sold in shops, then there's a simple tweak I can post.

just press ctrl+tilde and type cheatmenu, then go to the camp menu>cheatmenu>find item.

Never tried this before. Does it work when cheats are disabled?

Edit: Apparently no.

You need to make it available in shops to get the thick, reinforced, etc variants.

I think it's too 'unfinished' looking, so I don't use it even though it has superior stats.

I really do not like the helm at all...... and I feel like there is no helm that fits the armor.

So I use it without a helm if I decide to add it.

Well, they removed it way back in Mount & Blade 1.0 (maybe even earlier), but it remained, along with some other items, in the items file. Maybe for the use of mod makers. It's probably not the only item that you can't find in shops. So, while you are at it, you may want to do the same thing to the Samurai stuff etc.

Every item that was ever used in M&B can still be found in the itemlists, as well as maps of old Zendar

Yeah lol. I wish plate armor wasn't so crappy looking. I like to go for heavy armor, but usually I stop at a lordly coat of plates... because the full plate is just so ugly .
