Black Mace and joining a differnt faction?

Is it possible to get the Black mace and re-join the Polish faction? I love the Black mace but dislike the Cossack faction units, I have tried the apparent free play option but I have a Quest to destroy the Polish now which I don't want to do. I already have about 200 hours in this character and my renown is over 1,000, I just find the Cossacks too boring and debating whether to start a new character or not.
