Black Knights - Way too overpowered

Dark Knight's aren't overpowered at all!

They are just stronger than everyone...

Anyway do NOT neft them, it ruins the point of the game. Right now, you have to strengthen yourself in 75 days, then you fight them.

I managed to defeat them alone! As the marshall of the Rhodoks, the biggest army I had with me was about 400 strong (2 lords + me), and most of the time I was alone. Now, Lady and 3 lords are in my jail, one has managed to espace. The Dark Knights are not anymore. It was a challenge to the game. Now, I'm bored I don't have anything to do as my faction is at war with noone. I could release lords/lady of the dark knights, but that'd be ridiculous, still, im thinking of it. Anyway when the next patch comes up, I'll start over.

Also question to Merc or Jinnai :

If I put the spawn day of the dark knights to let say 200 days, will they be stronger than if i'd put them on day 1?

Considering their power and their numbers when they first invade (around 1500?), things would normally go that way :

DKs attack a faction's castle -> they quickly obliterate all troops and suffer close to zero loss -> they go on to next castle -> they conquer whole Caldaria in a few months and there's nothing the player can do about it with his meager 300 troops.

As it stands, what typically happens is :

DKs attack a faction's castle -> they take it but lose a hundred troops due to stupid autocalculated battle that doesn't realize the lord's weak troops can hardly damage any of them -> they go on to next castle -> they eventually run out of troops -> they become weak enough for the player to beat them.

So honestly, I do enjoy battling them because they are indeed a challenge sometimes, but if you can't fix the autocalc battles, there's no way DKs are the solution to the game being too easy.
IMO the problem comes more from the fact that other lords do not get any troop evolution while the player can raise 300+ top tier noble troops and then autowin every battle against other factions.

He's pretty much nailed it. DK's can just be beaten by pure war of attrition right now. Autocalc battles are their bane. It's not hard for factions to muster up a campaign against them and beat a dent into them with the human player doing mop-up though I did play a game where the AI killed them off without my help. For sure you can't beat them on the first day, but what fun would that be?

We tried fixing that problem. We like...quadrupled their XP bonus and increased the power of the reinforcements.

Also, I'll change the Dark Knights to have 15,000 soldiers when they arrive, under the command of 40 Captains under Commander Larktin.

uhhh...40? I mean I'm glad to see you addressing the problem, but what happened to middle ground. LOL!

If you don't like the dark knights go in the camp menu and make it so that they never ever show up. I personally think the Khergits are overpowered and annoying in Native and all mods, but I just deal with it by killing them. If you can't kill the dark knights then just try harder or lower the difficulty till you figure out a way to beat them.

I love the Khergits as when I fight them I have to change tactics and I play Nords, but 40 seems a bit crazy. I play with them on because I like the challenge of the dark knights and was not asking for a nerf. When there was 5 of them that's okay as it's easy to stay out of their path, but when traveling 40 does not sound so easy and that's twice as many nobles as anybody else. I was thinking along the lines of increasing the stacks of the 5 nobles when they invade not copying those stacks into 36 more clones. Seems to me like it's taking a sledgehammer to the auto-calc problem when just a hammer would have done.

It's annoying when people say you can just not use it or turn it off. How about we add Culverins, Handgonnes, Arquebus, Matchlokkes, and hand cannons the player can use but make them optional? That's okay right? It's about keeping they game realistic, and those that are complaining don't find them realistic.

EDIT: I'm very worried of seeing this...

SoD Undead Invasion, you know that like 3/4 of those troops are only the strength of watchmen except with no armor?
I also highly doubt that Jinnai/Merc will make 40 DK lords, I think your taking a joke serious. But, I think your taking everything I said directly aimed at you, ej, when honestly I never read your two posts before my last one, no offense.
Anyway, I think Jinnai and Merc will put whatever they please in their mod, whether we enjoy it doesn't mater much as they are the ones making it to what tickles their fancy. We should just be happy that they share it with us.

I know what the Undead Invasion troops are. I am just worried it will look like that with Dark Knights. These guys are her pet project so you can't her anything but serious when it comes to her Dark Knights. No offence taken either. I didn't think it was all directed at me as I was not really complaining in this thread.

Really I was worried you were ticked cause of this part.

But 15,000 at day 75 under the command of 40 lords and 1 queen kinda seems like a total butt raping. Although, I do believe it was an exaggeration. Maybe she will add an option in to have just the normal invasion (what we have now) or whatever insidious invasion she has planned for next. *hint hint*

I wouldn't mind having to fight off 15K dark knights.
Would be nice to see the ownership of castles and towns change like crazy, instead of remaining static until the players actually musters a force and takes them him/herself.

I think we need "DARK NORDS!" *Cue ominous music" Their like REGULAR nords... BUT THEIR... Their.... DAAAAAARK! And they Ride Real Horses!

Might screw Realism until it's crying, but hey... Dark vikings f-ing A.

And so Native Expansion begins its slip into the fantasy realm....

Can we have a Unicorn added? Its charge would do great damage.

Nooooooooooooo....

Jesus, I can see it now, capped power draw, riding, and horse archery .

black hkergits are so .. rapist...
the dark troops have a flaw... they come on foot and they can be knocked out and recruited...
the dark khergits are not knockabile as they are all horse archers... and therefore seldom recruitabile...
fighting a campain against them... will lead to total slaughter...
