If i was around for warband i would have wanted an african faction in that game too. Also it inherently is a racist issue when the topic is the denial of African presence in history. Im not saying you are racist but there definitely are racists here.

African presence in europe's medieval history? you mean rare cases of black people in the dark ages and being used as slaves later on? please don't see racism where there's none, african tribes were nowhere near the level of tech of european countries before colonization begun and they didn't directly play a part in the events of medieval europe.

history can't be racist, its just facts that happened in the past, sure some of those facts might have happened because of racist ideals but that doesn't mean history in itself is racist or that we need to have a black hitler in historic tv shows for the sake of equality.

That said, even though i'd be ok with it since it's just a game not meant to be 100% realistic, i don't think an african faction will be added to bannerlord by the devs, at the same time I'm sure that mods will quite easily do that as soon as the game reaches a point in development where it actually makes sense to develop such mods without having to fix broken things everyday.

Why do you think the map would need to be expanded? There is so much empty space on the map currently. Enough for at least 3 new factions.

Too often in medieval and historical video games, the African civilizations are over looked, when in reality some of their civilizations, like the Berbers and Moors, were vital to the development of the world as we know it. Obviously they wouldn’t be called Berber or Moor or even African, but a clearly African inspired faction would be very appreciated. The Aksum, Mali, Djenno Djenne, Eritrea, and Somalians were all medieval civilizations with the same level of advancement, and most fit in the time frame that bannerlord is going for. African armour and shields would be entirely unique, along with some new sword designs like the Ngulu.

I don't have any opposition to an a faction inspired by such cultures, but Berbers and Moors are not "black African factions".

No African presence in Global medieval history. Contrary to how you appear to think, history is not Eurocentric. Africans were right along side Indochina and the Arabians until the introduction of gunpowder. What you said is blatantly racist. You clearly stated the only siginificant part historically about Africans is slavery. Now why would you think thats a good idea?

That's not entirely true. Actually, it couldn't be further from the truth. The Songhai Empire, the Great Zimbabwe, the Mali Empire... three massive African Kingdoms/Empires which directly influenced trade around the world and were contenders as regional/global powers at the time. Sure they didn't have the "technology" but they did have equal power to contemporary European Kingdoms and powers.

It really isn't. Have you ever chased looters to the south of the Aseri? There is soo much empty space. Or to the East again at least space for seven cities there. For me it seems obvious that they have left those massive areas of the map to fill in later. Why else would they be there?

Also, isent asking for the inclusion of whatever ethnicity because you dont relate to the current ones in the game in itself a lil bit racist though?

But whatever, I see no problem with it; so long as they just focus on completing the game first. Something like this shouldnt cost resources before the base game is finished.

Most of Africa became European colonies. They were not on the same tech levels.

I think you're mistaking military focused cultures with societies which had other focuses. For example. The Mali held vast gold reserves and had a military to defend themselves. They were not particularly belligerent with their neighbors. Their neighbors were more likely belligerent with them. The Mali therefore were more of a society interested with trade and commerce. They also were religious and focused on literacy and mathematics so that their population could understand the Quran and trade gainfully with other Muslim societies. In other words why focus on developing military technology when you could just trade and buy other nations' soldiers and arms?
