Black African Faction

Too often in medieval and historical video games, the African civilizations are over looked, when in reality some of their civilizations, like the Berbers and Moors, were vital to the development of the world as we know it. Obviously they wouldn’t be called Berber or Moor or even African, but a clearly African inspired faction would be very unique and offer a more mobile infantry based fighting style. The Aksum, Mali, Djenno Djenne, Eritrea, and Somalians were all medieval civilizations with the same level of advancement, and most fit in the time frame that bannerlord is going for. African armour and shields would be entirely unique, along with some new sword designs like the Ngulu. Please refrain from being ignorant. This thread is not intended for conflict, I want it to be constructive. This thread is meant to get a new culturally significant faction to the game, nothing else.

Sure, that would be unique.

The World Map looks large enough to accommodate a few more factions, anyways. More factions is always a good thing as long as they make sense, so I don't see why not.

Maybe if there's a future mount and blade title, but I think it's unlikely an entire new faction will be created this late into things.

Until then there are mods.

That was over 500 years after bannerlords timeline. That is also an extremely antiquated and disproven statement. Prior to the mongol diaspora and the ensuing rise of gunpowder, Africans were on the same technological level as Europeans. Careful- your ignorance is showing

Bannerlord is the prequel to warband, all of the factions in bannerlord are the predecessors of those in warband. There's no African style faction in warband so what's why there isn't in bannerlord

Anyway, taleworlds has designed the current factions for years - if you want a new faction you would have to wait an extremely long time for it

Bannerlord is the prequel to warband, all of the factions in bannerlord are the predecessors of those in warband. There's no African style faction in warband so what's why there isn't in bannerlord.

Well that we "know" of.

The entire map of Bannerlord is also an expansion upon what Warbands map was. It includes far more regions and plenty of empty space to occupy. So who's to say that there aren't more Factions in the works for DLC?

Neither were the Vikings/Kievan Rus or Celts. They'e received tech upgrades based on what might have happened if they had retained their culture.

You do make a fair point there, even still I think we would be waiting years and years for a new faction DLC. And I can't see taleworlds doing it.

They do have a very slow track record in that regards but that's neither here nor there. Just mainly saying it's not out of the realm of possibility at some point.

But yes, mods will most likely get to it first.

I can see room for at least 3 new factions. Maybe even 4 if you really squashed them in. The map is empty far to the east and far to the south and far to the North East.
I'd like an African faction, either Chinese or Japanese. Maybe you could fit in some minor cities that would represent a smaller option like a Venice where yo could have elections for leader.

If i was around for warband i would have wanted an african faction in that game too. Also it inherently is a race based issue when the topic is the denial of African presence in history. Im not saying you are discriminatory but there definitely are some here.
