Closed Birth and aging got disabled

Summary: I started this play through with birth and aging on my person has had kids and so has his siblings but recently I realized that no one was being born and the children where not aging any more so I pulled open campain options in game and now it says it is disabled even though it says we can only turn it off or on when making your person yet my person has 3 or 4 kids but now none age and he can have any more. Is there away to fix this because I spent a good amount of time on this play through and dont want to have to restart.

How do I get my saved file if I am using an xbox series x to play the game? Also my game is up to date with what is on xbox and still the aging and birth is turned off.

Having a similar issue after 1.2.1 patch was released on Xbox. Module mismatch seems to be the culprit(?). And with this mechanic locked behind character creation there's no way to re-enable it.

Edit: Just noticed it is still enabled. After finding the chest menu in campaign options (first time) and attempting to use in a new game. I had completely misinterpreted the locked state as disabled.
