So I have to do a speech to my class about the sense:taste.I've searched the net for quite a while now, but there's almost nothing valuable on there.I can't even find schematic drawings of the tongue, half of the sites still use the theory in which you taste only one taste on one place.Do any of you have any acknowledge about this, would you please share it as I don't know how I'm going to pull this off.

Present on the fallacy of the tongue map, the density of receptors and so-called super-tasters (those with a higher receptor density), the link between smell and taste, and taste as a sexual device (most notably related to kissing). If need be, I'll see if I can find some links on the topic for you.

Design an experiment whereby you show that a lot of taste is infact smell. Get a blindfold and noseclip, then feed an apple/potato, chocolate/beef stock or a small dead cat/chewing gum to the numpty subject, and see if they can tell the difference.

Give a presentation discussing the issue of taste with regards to oral sex.

That would require first hand experience, though it would be a nice way to propose giving it out .

You could go to a butcher and buy an ox's tongue and pass it around class. Make sure to vacuum seal it though.

You could also do a part about capsaicin, and it's effects on the tongue are not entirely in the tastes realm. Along side that you could go on a small tangent about the types of tastes, the newest being unagi (whether you actually believe it is a taste is another matter).

So, a few of my friends came over yesterday and I've thrown a bunch information in a ppt.It isn't perfect,but it's at least half decent.

I went to a slaughter house, and those cow tongues are HUGE, and they cost too much.

Yeah , I've got lots of samples, most taste horrible, another way to get back some of my classmates.

Remember the 6th taste that was discovered recently.  I believe it was savour.  It's a taste you get from rich fatty stuff, like good steak.
