Some things I could use some assistance with:

- Research on armor and weapons used during the Gladitorial Games (I would like to expand the amount of available equipment used in the arena)

- Any sketches or models of what Sarmizegetusa (Dacian Stronghold) woud have looked like:

Well SPQR , I am from Romania, my "ancestors" are the dacian people. I ll try and help you out with what I can. By under decebalus you mean after or before him? It is Decebal in my local language if it helps with anything.

He means at the same time as Decebalus but taking orders from him.  "Under" him on an organizational chart, like chieftains of subtribes or something.  Basically, names of other Dacian lords

Lexis,

Thank you for the assist.  I would gladly accept your help.  I will use Decebal as the King of the Dacians for the mod. I looked for some names of tribal leaders/ chieftans that were under him in an organizational sense as Pode has described. I would like to try and get as close as possible of who would have served with him during his many challenges with Romans.  So far all I could dig up was his brother and a high priest.  Thank you both for taking interest in the mod.

SPQR since I never tried the mod (planning to once theres more stuff completed) what date does the mod start with? Rome Total War : Barbarian Invasions starts in 363 after Chr. so I assume BI uses an date close to that? Correct me if Im wrong.

Still, Decebal ruled Dacia in 87-106 after Chr. Using him in the mod wound't seem historical accurate. The aurelian retreat happened in 271 but we're still too far from 363. It's pretty late now for me so I don't know how much accurate my historical dates are.

EDIT: Dug out some information ... by 336 Dacia was free of Romans. By that time we had influences from looter and raiding nations. Dont know If I expressed my idea that good.

EDIT 2: As for dacian helmets I found a royal helmet http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/02/Royal_Dacian_Helmet_Cotofenesti.jpg/200px-Royal_Dacian_Helmet_Cotofenesti.jpg

EDIT 3: Regarding Dacian chiefs. I found out the following:
->Diegis was a Dacian chief, general and brother of Decebalus
->Vezina was the Dacian high priest during the reign of Decebalus, having the second most important place in the state, after the king. He took part in the Battle of Tapae.

I did manage to found some more names but I coundt find who where they serving.

EDIT 4: Dacian Banner: http://www.gk.ro/sarmizegetusa/armata_daca/tricolorul_dacic.jpg  ... The colours on the background are Romania's colours but those 2 heads I believe they are a Dacian banner/symbol. Maybe put those 2 heads on a red or black background flag?

EDIT 5 (LOL sorry for that many but double posting is not allowed) : I ve said earlier Dacia had influences from other nations. Those are: Celts, Germans, Greeks, Iranians (I just found out about this one o_O), Indo- europeans, Slaves .
Also: one more ( I think its a banner LOL ) http://www.enciclopedia-dacica.ro/eng/pic2.jpg

EDIT 6: One more Dacian helmet http://www.enciclopedia-dacica.ro/armata_daca/coif_sigla.jpg

http://www.enciclopedia-dacica.ro/ ... you might want to check this... click on the english button and you will see it in english. This is all for today, going to sleep. If you would like more information on anything let me know and I'll try dig something up.

Cheers

Lexis,

Yes, the factions have been changed around a bit since the .960 release.  The release I am working on will be around 98 AD.  Trajan is Emperor and one of his first objectives is to eliminate Dacia, a growing threat.  Of course you have to put this mod into perspective.  I cannot change history, but I am using it as best I can to bring out certain credible threats to Rome. In the North will be the Britons, who attacked the occupying Romans 80 years earlier with a sizeable force, also in the north are the Dacians and to the East will be Parthia. All factions will be attempting to eliminate Rome.  Later in the mod, the faction Marcomanii Confederation will be introduced and start their massive invasion over all Roman held territory.  Again, this happens a little later in history when the Goths begin to slowly push them into the Romans but I wanted to bring this into the mod for the player.

I too saw the Dacian Helmet and included it in the BI thread.  Someone mentioned they would make a model of it last week for the mod. Yes, those are the same names I found, the brother and high priest. I appreciate the search.

Nice find on that last link.

Check this link and go at the bottom of the page. There are some schemes there. I tried to link them here but they were in a very low resolution

Nice find Lexis.  Now was that circular structure with the pillars what it would have looked like back then, or is that after the Romans destroyed their temples and the years of decay that followed.  If it is their best guess as to what it looked like.. I believe that will be an awesome start.

I believe it is an aproximate look. Nobody cant tell how it trully looked back then but I suppose those images are pretty close .

Anything else?

The same videos you posted above but in .flv format. You can open it with VLC Media player if all others fail too. If you want me I can convert them but Media player should be able to open it.

I think it would be better if you spoke english as I think other languages aren't allowed here. As for your question: Bucharest

Lex,

Any possibility you can dig up some images of small Dacian villages?  What the houses or abodes looked like.  Some common scene props you would find in the village..etc..

Thanks.
