Beta Patch Notes v1.2.0-v1.2.6

Users who are viewing this thread

It is not part of our current priorities. I don't think there is any point to categorically reject it for all time though. It has been and will continue to be discussed alongside other potential improvements. We typically discuss changes publicly after a more concrete decision has been made and some progress towards them has been achieved (to reduce the likelihood of disappointment if a prototype doesn't make it as initially envisioned or at all).

@Dejan @Duh_TaleWorlds overall good patch, but i gotta ask any plans for some court intrigue and random events popping up while in a city, castle, village and while traveling? Because right now there is nothing to do in peace time except for tournaments, killing small patches of bandits and trying to find some lord in prison to break out. In other words nothing to do in peace time it's boring and dull.

It would be awesome some kind of Court mechanics for the clan leader (lord of a fief) or the Kings and Emperors. Something that would actually make sense for the player get perks with governors on them. The player of course would only be considered governor during peace or staying in the fief otherwise it needs choose a steward. Something like "open courts", "receive petitioners", etc.

That's the reason I'm not willing to start a new campaign.

You should make it your #1 priority as it is clearly what your public has been demanding for years.

But this alters my set up when i go back to fighting on my own my captains at times are in the wrong units so the perks are not in the right place. I have to set it up again .
Thanks for the clarification! This is not an intended behavior and we will be investigating it.

Why exactly was the Charm perk "immortal charm" revised to only give a flat +5 influence per day? It is now essentially useless to level Charm past 275... which of course affects one's choice of attribute point allocation. why go past level 7 Social now? Maybe 8 Social if you want the Level 300 Trade perk, but 9 or 10 Social is wasting attribute points unless you really want the extra 14-28 members in your party from the final leadership perk...

The final perk in each skill tree should have effects related to the actual level to incentivize leveling past 275 and allocating attribute points accordingly (although the Trade level 300 perk is kind of special and seems fine as is).

@Duh_TaleWorlds I think it should be in your current priorities. Right now during this stage of the game v1.2.0 and 1.2.1 no matter which faction you join, it all boils down to recruit soldiers and fight, fight, fight. Dont get me wrong the battle are good, animations are amazing, balance could maybe kinda do some tweaking, but everything other than wars and battles is falling really flat. Like the best part of the game is waging wars and battles, and even that can become repetitive. All NPCs are the same doesnt matter that their looks are different and have "different culture" and "personality"(which does nothing), they are all the same, bland and shallow.

Between campaigns from different versions and the new one there is almost 0 difference. Again dont take it the wrong way, improvements are welcome and are praised, the game is way more stable and runs better on my 1050Ti i commend your programmers, but yeah, gameplay loop is bland. Please talk with your team leader or boss or whatever his title is. The community is painfully drooling for such content to be added in the game.

When war is over player got nothing to basically , if he not a merchant ... And thats real , a lot of people saying that ...I have a lot of imagination and fantasy, only that helped me to maintain 200 hours in game. Game is still great tho , a lot of work has been done by developers and community , we just friendly reminding that a lot of fun/actual histoical activities SHOULD be added , im not even going to list em.

Also , how is my viceroy still a wanderer when he manages one of the richest city in the map for few years LOL , dat dude must be influential person already:!:

No offense to developers and community managers , and ye , ive bought the game on console , didnt download it for free from some torrrent
P.S. how about giving console users ability to download and try mods , i would take all risks ,cause we out there naked waitin for any little patch , we cant embellish the game by ourselfs rn

Factions were designed painfully simple outside of battle. Like, yeah they have different soldiers but shouldn't they provide different playstyles in regards of voting, like should a Monarch take every decision or does the culture is more democracy oriented, what marriage traditions they have, who's allowed to lead and who's not, do they allow Women to command and lead too? I think what's interesting of world cultures is the diversity in them and having cultures so diverse in this game with different views and ideals and NOT use them is an absolute waste, specially since this would upgrade the roleplaying and replaying potential by thousands.

100% - Absolutely agreed. I've been saying for ages that the core gameplay loop is beyond repetitive.

+1, Every big patch i get excited again and start a new campaign. Only to get bored rater quickly. On of the things the game misses in my opinion is reach goals. These are goals to set yourself as a player to strife for. these can be:
- become a ruler ( it is in the game, but should come with a change in gameplay)
- being able to recruit special units (minor faction units?)
- Design a troop tree for your clan/kingdom
etc.

The battles are good enough for me as it is. Any improvement is super welcome but would not increase my overall enjoyment of the game.
More RPG elementes, diplomacy and kingdom management would increase my enjoyment.

i am not sure about the time ratio but it feels like: 40% travel, 20% menu's, 40%battles.
As a king i would expect to reduce the travel time and battle time, and spend more time managing the kingdom.

The main reason battles become repetitive is because you never really need to use tactics other than "spam ranged units with a token force of trash distraction infantry and watch them mow everything down". That tactic beats everything.

This is why armour needs to be fixed to give actual protection against arrows! Morale should probably do something too, right now it's a pretty pointless mechanic.
All NPCs are the same doesnt matter that their looks are different and have "different culture" and "personality"(which does nothing), they are all the same, bland and shallow.
Also yes, Personality Traits should actually do something.

I think the game needs improvement to the campaign AI first and foremost, and then any depth to the diplomacy system / things to do when NOT at war would be a welcome breath of fresh air. As it's been mentioned already, the pace goes too quickly from a complete nobody to high tier vassal/king conquering everything left and right with nothing but wars in between.
Better voting systems (including ways to influence the votes, be it by bribing with money, promises of future assistance, giving away a fief, giving away influence points, arranging a marriage), better politics, intrigue... so much could be done and expanded upon the existing skin and bones frame...

Kinda funny, it seems if CK3 had the fights of Bannerlord, it would be the perfect game for everyone that complain about what Bannerlord lack for them. Maybe just play CK3? Tbh, I play the game for the fights, battles etc. Adding a lot of other trivial stuff on the side that would end up like mandatory management of annoyance would make the game less fun imho.

There's plenty of room for a compromise between CK3 amount of features/complexities and the barebones features of Bannerlord.
I am not personally advocating for that, just adding a bit of meat around those bones. Especially stuff that could be used to easily have repercussions on the war mongering side of the game, making the latter more interesting as a result.

If you don't know what to do during peace, well, start a war, what's the point being in peace?
And if you're bored, just make a pause and come back later. I don't get the point, it's like playing racing game and saying I'm bored always driving.
