Beta Patch Notes e1.7.2

Also time and a half is massively overrated, it's pretty much just a trap to get the 70 IQ rise n' grind™ kids to come in and work the hours the smart sane people refuse. That extra bit of chump change is moot in the long run. If working full time at your job isn't enough to make ends meet and you have to hawk for overtime hours or holiday shifts, then news flash: you're getting fleeced by your employer, and you should either renegotiate your pay ASAP or start sending your résumé out to other places.
I want to argue that it's more money for the same amount of your time, so it's good if that's what you're doing anyways. However I also regret all days and nights of work like this I've ever done too. If I could have a tool tip for the next life, I'd say never work a job that doesn't have a clear line of promotion or build a marketable skill (or portfolio or similar) for any longer then you absolutely have to. If you need it to pay for school or while looking for something else, fine, but never stay on. If all you're getting is a pay check, even a better then average one, eventually it'll use you up and you'll be old with nothing to show for it.
There won't be a new beta this week.
Not all issues identified in testing have been resolved. More issues may still be identified in testing as well.
We're working to release Beta 172 to live before the next Beta patch.
Thanks for the news.

I have a feeling that the dissapointment will be huge when the update drops

Get ready for 1.7.1 / 1.7.2 Part II :iamamoron:
Greetings, warriors of Calradia!

With the new 1.7.3 patch we've updated how the inventory pops out on the screen. From this day now on, it rolls down from the upper part of your screen. Please, note that this will make any previous save games incompatible with the update, since what've done is really complicated and demanded two code refactors to come live (plus we have forgotten what we've been working on after two weeks of holidays). If you have any problems, try verifying Steam files.

See you in a next 3-6 months with another great update on the line!

Will there be more new armor pieces beyond the 7 Vlandian shoulder ones? Also, will the helmet gaps be fixed where they stretch too far in front of the face or are a weird size in 1.7.3?

Saying "new beta" instead of saying "1.7.3" kinda confirms rumors about next patch being 1.8.0 to me  . I expect 1.8.0 to wrap up at least 2 or 3 promised contents (like banners or claimants). This is why it must be taking so long to release it cuz you guys have to properly test whether these newly implemented contents would cause game breaking bugs.

I like most of the contents mentioned in "future plans" but I hope you guys are also aware of the shallowness of "diplomacy" in this game (almost did not get any attention since the start of early access) and I hope you guys are already working on it or at least have plans to improve it before the full release of this game, despite this subject not being mentioned in the future plans.

Never work a job from which you don't get any satisfaction or gratification. If you have a job and you take pride in what you do and feel accomplished when you do it, great!
But if you're stuck in a dead end job, doing menial tasks with other miserable people, going to work just for the paycheck then yeah, pack it in.
You don't live to work but you have to work to live. That's a thing that's certain. But that doesn't mean that you can't find a job which you like doing.

Probably highly unlikely but that also doesn't exclude full release either. Maybe this next beta will be a huge patch and then sometime in June there's going to be the Q2 full release. Optomistic, yes but everything on the future plans I could see being done in hypothetical 1.8.0 and full release fixes what that broke.

This.
A lot of helmets in the game look bad because they are badly scaled and/or stretched

You could find a work that you don't mind doing, which is fairly paid with okay conditions.
You don't necessarily need to "like" your job and there are plenty of ways to accomplish yourself besides your "working career"...

Man I don't even know why I keep looking at this every week. Almost three months without a patch now, and even if we get one before July by some miracle, its not gonna have any substantial changes. Devs have shot down any expectations of the game having more depth than it currently does. They like it as an "action game" The game is likely in a basically finished state. All we can wait for now is new armor, banners in combat, new village and town layouts, claiments, voice acting (for some reason) and bug fixes. Maybe a few new quests sprinkled in too. But that's all dressing. The core of the game is, by everything I've seen here on the forums over the last two years, finished. What's there to get excited about anymore?

The only hope (copium) is that, due to the pressure/lack of progress past few weeks/months, this next patch update has to be impactful. Which is why it keeps getting pushed, in order to add as many changes/fixes in as possible and due to that, new issues encountered that is causing delays.

Or the delay/issue is just due to some bad coding from previous installments, and there's no 'concrete' changes although it's been months; hence the delay/apprehension to put it out in hopes another department fits something in.

Ofcourse! I wasn't promoting the 80hr grind here, you can take pride in your work as a dishwasher, garbageman, office worker or anything.
And I also agree that you could find work that is okay. But I think the line between "okay" and "begrudgingly going to work" is a lot thinner than the one between "liking my job" and "begrudgingly going to work". If you enjoy being a dishwasher and taking pride in making sure the kitchen runs smoothly, the chef is happy and the guests have clean plates, then great! And if you just dont mind doing it because it is fairly paid and has okay conditions then sure, do your thing! But if I was at the "it's okay" stage then I'd sure as hell want to get to "I like this" stage.

Wishful thinking (copium): the more it's late, the bigger the content, and greater the reward for waiting. This is simply unrelated to reality or evidence.
Just be frustrated more and more like normal people until you snap and give up.

to me that means two thing: 1.the issue of 1.7.3 is big 2. the 1.7.3 will be a big patch with either big new features or big code polishing even both

Covid crisis actually showed that the most paid jobs were not the most needed one...
Unfortunately nothing really changed, only a pause in this non-sense...

Sure, sure! And the lower paid jobs were the first to get laid off, such as bars & restaurants that were closed during COVID. That's also what has created this immense labor shortage, atleast in my country. So all the people that got laid off or left their job sector during COVID have found new types of employment. And the job sectors which are now reopening, where people got laid off are now the ones with the biggest labor shortages. So it has become, for those sectors, a workers market.
If you're unhappy about where you are right now then slowly but steadily go somewhere else. The time is now.
