Beta Patch Notes e1.5.8

Wanderers bug has been marked as fixed 'in next updates' in Tech Support.

Though a bug with settlement construction not including the 'base' or 'workshop' modifiers was marked 'fixed in next updates' 2 or 3 updates ago, and hasn't yet actually been applied.

I see they marked the "Istiana or Arzagos" resolved but not the reports about wanderers. I hope they got it though.

This is my new definition of "creativity" - naming same bug differently, in fourth consecutive updates without really fixing it and adding some more to the pool...

They marked the one I raised which was wanderers and Arzagos/Istiana, and moved it to resolved sub-forum.

Always possible they've marked my bug as resolved when only half resolved. I suppose it also depends on whether the disappearance of wanderers vs Arzagos/Istiana was actually the same cause or not.

The only positive thing about patch 1.5.8 is knowing that patch 1.5.9 is going to be even worse. The game should have been over by now, although most of you don't think so. The game has a bad foundation, anything that is added will cause problems. The only hope for this game is an attitude similar to what Paradox did with Imperator Rome. Redo the game.

That's the spirit.

Lets us wait and see.. It is probably to early to claim the 1.5.9 will be even worse but i won't say it is impossible... Can't remmember any issue before being as persistent and badly handled as this "texture / memmory leak / portraits / name it" bug. Was there anything close more annoying than that ?

One of the 1.4 betas was pretty unstable and took a while to fix. 1.4.3? Can't remember. 1.5.8 is probably worse, though - repeated unsuccessful attempts to fix the graphics issues wasn't entirely reassuring. But software development is complex, sometimes.

"Soon" does not imply any particular date, time, decade, century, or millennia in the past, present, and certainly not the future. "Soon" shall make no contract or warranty between TW and the end user. "Soon" will arrive some day, TW does guarantee that "soon" will be here before the end of time. Maybe. Do not make plans based on "soon" as TW will not be liable for any misuse, use, or even casual glancing at "soon."

Well, they already did that once and the also had a 3-month refactor that was supposed to make everything easier. And yet, here we are.

Lately the updates oscillate the wait of a month, so I would say that we are less than a week from receiving it
1.5.9 will have been theoretically 'ready' as early as a week or two after 1.5.8 was deployed to beta. But it can't be promoted to beta until 1.5.8 is ready to go to stable branch; and bugfixes for 1.5.8 will also need applying to 1.5.9 (code merge and regression testing...). So I'd expect 1.5.9 can't really be practically ready until several days/a week later than a stable 1.5.8.

If the NPC/wanderers bug has been fixed and is awaiting deployment, that's positive - but would also need fixes for the outstanding graphics/icons issues that 1.5.8 + hotfixes introduced.

I believe the "Patch Notes 1.5.8" is the most commented thread of this kind to date..

Well the situation is a bit hilarious, one month after release and some major bugs still are unresolved.

yeah, code refactor stuff, but knowing that it was a critical update they should has been more careful.

Yes because this situation and the status of the game is unbelievable. It's not getting better ..it's getting worse. And the refraction thing which speeds up everything and is so important isn't really noticeable. It's still everything slow in terms of progress and stability.
