Beta Patch Notes e1.5.8

Not mentioned in the notes, but I believe a new feature added is that it now gives you an option of not having the game converting a save from an older version to have death and aging turned on. Previously, for me at least, it just turned on death and aging regardless of what I'd selected for the campaign so thank you for that, much appreciated.

Hope so, it's definitely the worst of the two issues.
Not sure if missing wanderers or icons are worse, both should have been fixed by now instead of this:
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when the player or hideout boss killed spectator troops during a hideout duel.
  • Fixed a crash caused by loading an old save that starts immediately with the siege aftermath menu, (which has been changed in new versions and contains pillaging options).
  • Fixed a crash caused by average item price calculations.
Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that directs the player to a peace menu while raiding a settlement even though no peace occurs.
  • Average gold amounts of towns are increased.
Who wants to load a save game into a broken game version?
How many players reported that hideout boss bug which can even be prevented easily?

I got told that it is important to test the alpha version of this EA beta release which could be final in Q4/2021 if (!) we are "lucky". Ok, but why then focus to be able to play an old save with the newest still broken version of the game? Priorities? You want more players on a broken alpha release of a beta version of an EA game?

What´s next? A new pig texture? How many blind shots will TW need to fix those already to be claimed bugs? How many of those bugs will occur with the next patch IF they´re able to really fix one of them?

That´s really some quality work with the right priorities....this is a full tripple A game price release if somebody forgot....not a 9,99€ - 19,99€ indie game title where 1-5 guys are working on it. But of course it feels like it´s a small indie game with 5 devs, but even that would insult most small indie game dev companies.

But if your workforce is working on the console release with 3/4 of it´s "strenght"....sure, TW will never admit it and I can´t "proove" it, but this must be the case. Otherwise it´s even worse...but be sure that the console release will be together with the PC "final" release or something like 1-3 months later. They´ve shown that they are already changing UI stuff for a better console version (battle command menu, battle troop slider #RIP). And that´s just the beginning. Nobody, literally nobody asked for one of those two changes or?

Did anyone ever played the game and thought stuff like "Oh this command menu is really bad, I want a wheel instead of keyboard shortcuts" or "I´m too stupid to set up my performance settings on my pc, why is this game running bad on my crap pc with 750 battle troop size? This game would be better if I had less options to choose"? Maybe I missed those threads...

Better ignore the REALLY broken stuff like siege AI, smithing and whatever since RELEASE. They "claimed" the final release will be ready within 1 year, we are 1,5 month away from this year.....it´s far away from beeing final....49,99€!

In my first battle for NE Lucon died but when i ask about the quest everyone tells me to talk to him still. How do I communicate with the dead in this game?

I agree, this thing is a dumpster fire.

(-_-; at least 2.... I wasn't the only one. I want my cheap skill up man! I gotsta exploit! I win the duel I get to shoot them all in the face! Gimme my 1 athletics skill!

I saw one guy on reddit make a topic about how much he liked the radial option and asking why nobody told him about it.

In my hunting of the wanderer bug my last game I checked after every battle, city, etc, trying to narrow it further.

In a case of bug uncertainty principle at its finest, no wanderers refused to despawn and not want to add the loading variable I kept going, and going, and going...
ended up meeting 95% of them before first quitting, since then have load and saved dozens of times (but always with a new save, you never know) and actually had a few added and 0 despawn...

I refuse to make any trends at this point for fear of breaking things but wanted to share

I had this bug about.... 200-300 days ingame. What happened was, when i got to the Encyclopedia Tab, to check notes on the heroes, I got a crash. When i re-opened the game, the wanderers were gone. unfortunatly i didnt report the crash (dumb me wanted to get back to game ASAP). So i think unless you check the notes about wanderers you SHOULD with a focus on should be fine. Basically the "wanderers dissapear" bug either causes or is caused by a game crash

I am pretty confused by this. It contains lot of stuff and there is no way they could get all that done until 1y EA. Does this post actually mean the EA will be extended :?:
Why would TW post this if they have no time to implement it. This is really confusing!

Here's next week's patch notes:
NOT the real patchnotes
Art
  • Moved sheep asset 3c from co-ordinate 14.5150,100.031,10301.81 to co-ordinate 14.5150,100.031,10301.83
  • Changed the colour of Battanian helmet number 7 from blued steel to burnished copper
Performance
  • Performed a refactor for three and a half weeks that allows board games to require 0.0000000001% less CPU usage
Crashes
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing the player from marrying their daughter off to a mule
  • Fixed a bug that was allowing some members of the community to have a small amount of hope for the future

There hasn't been any official statement related to that yet... but i believe that EA will be extended "past due date". I have got that impression after reading between the lines of some Developer's posts. (I don't want to quote them because i might have understood it the wrong way and accidentally cause them get into trouble).

It is ok i guess, there is no shame in doing that, admitting game isn't ready. It is for sure better than releasing it while unfinished. One year (especially the past year) was a great chellange to us all !

The risk - i see here is when postponing launch date may encourage similiar actions in the future, plus cause unwanted slowing down of the team's efforts. Once or twice it won't hurt... but more.. we all know 3'yrs EAs that has never brought up any final product.

I appreciate the heads up with your experiences. I experienced it day 1 by winning a tournament and saw them whittle away down to 0 but never could draw a clear idea what exactly caused it. I am just about approaching day 200 so will be alert to this next round of potential bugs.

THANK YOU in advance about making sure to save the crash logs next time I crash at this key time. I get a random one every dozen hours or so would normally only save it if it repeats but with such a key bug I want to do best practice in documentation. thank you again

But lets be realistic. With the current pace of development, when we can see minor changes are breaking core functionalities, plus it takes 3+ weeks to fix them... how long will it take them to implement this:
Combat, Cameras, Animations & More

  • Lord’s Hall Fight
  • Prison Break

The siege AI is not fixed after one year. Lords hall fight is a new component similar to siege AI. I mean 2-3 years maybe...

You forgot +4 some random armor and -5 some random sword for X faction because that's what players want.

I know, it does not look like we would like it to be. Those re-appearing "minor" bugs are my main concern, they spoil the fun and slow down the progress.

I am pretty confident they would first announce closing AE rather than waiting to implement those complately new features.

Take me back to the days of hope and anticipation, these constant let downs are so painful man

Why don't they seperate the console version and PC version though if mentioned changes to the battle commands screen are due to console release?

That would need two things that companies don't want to spend:

More time

More money
